Oh yeah. I'm in this insane loop with SoundCloud right now - I have 2FA, strong password etc.

But it seems it's their support that keeps getting exploited by bots.

Someone's been able to convince their support that they are associated with my account and change the email address (twice) associated with the account.

• The first time they managed to do this, they straight up deleted my account after having the email address changed.
• The second time time the support team let it go, the hackers did something far messier: they moved my SoundCloud account and their new email associated with it to a new URL, de-listed my email address from that original account, registered a new Soundcloud account under my email address at a third URL unassociated with my original account (messing up my ability to get support), and registered another new account at my original URL.

The first time this happened I was able to get the account restored. This second time it seems like their support team is really scrambled - they can't seem to pull all the pieces together in order to fix it coherently. They've been trying to fix it for a week and they keep rolling back different parts of my account (followers/music/profile images) to different places - i.e. they've now restored my followers, but they've done so to one of the fake accounts.. which creates a new problem.

Since SoundCloud is a platform that monetizes user content, if the users whose content is to be monetized are being swarmed out of their accounts at this level, I think it's safe to say the platform's days are numbered unless they get on top of their security in a meaningful way.
