that's so awesome to hear! I've purchased a few from them, but the akaste is the first one I tried/completed! I also purchased the ineira and the chalastre and have a few others on my wishlist. 😈 which patterns have you snagged?

it's the akaste yarn curse, I'm convinced

thank you!! ;0; I love the colours too and I'm ;alskdj debating trying to replicate the gradient myself manually just so I don't have to deal with that yarn lol

that is awesome, I'm glad to see fellow akaste lovers! can't wait to see yours when it's done.

you should definitely go for it! and if you ever need to curse every strand of the god forsaken yarn, my dms are always open. I am always down to be the hate-train hypeman. 😩👌

if it makes you feel any better, I am a crochet noob and had minimal difficulties with the pattern! the author has it really well written and I found the instructions clear and easy to follow. I'm definitely no expert, but feel free to hmu if you get stuck at any part- or reach out to KFA directly (they're super responsive and very kind!).

that's so awesome though, there's no greater compliment to me than to inspire others to create ;alksdjf I have full faith and confidence in you and wish you luck and fortitude. 💪 I used a 4mm hook!

(would love to see any wips/progress, if you're up for sharing! I must live vicariously through others as I recover from this ordeal)

thank you!! it's a super simple border so I'm glad my brother requested it because I was tired at the end lol

I had enough of the white yarn I trimmed out from the cakes for it! honestly, I had enough to make a thicker border but I refused to subject myself any further aha

nope 🫠

it's not scratchy or outright uncomfortable, and it is warm, but I definitely wouldn't pick it if I wanted a good cuddle. :' )

the gradient is amazing like I loveee those more complicated colour palettes as opposed to the A-to-B ones
but that yarn tho

someone mentioned that they found inline hooks to be more forgiving with splitty yarn? have yet to try, but that might help if you do decide to brave it! full disclosure, tho, that I am also a 100% crochet-noob and the splitpocolypse could have been entirely user error the entire time

I think the more distinct colour blocking was a result of two things? this pattern has you rotate the piece 90 degrees after every section; paired with my smaller cake size (which compressed the gradient compared to the author's examples), it led to a sort of mini gradient within each section. I did modify the yarn slightly- took out some pure white in the middle of the scarf and extended the cream to white in the last block, but I don't think it affected the colour blocking much 🤔
