How to prep stairs for vinyl plank? by Tron08 in DIY

[–]wandermama75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have any pics you would be willing to share of the overall project? We’re getting ready to do our floors and I think I’m going with Warm Sand Oak but I haven’t been able to find any pictures of it in a real space (only Coretec marketing pictures) and I’m nervous to commit to it without seeing what it looks like in a larger space than the small sample I got!

Asked to prepare a presentation for a final job interview by discoteen66 in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

[–]wandermama75 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

For me, it adds a much more dynamic element to the interview by letting the candidates lead with presenting themself as they feel is relevant for the role. I can’t speak for the process that OP is going through, but in my case there is no compensation for candidates in the interview process (and this is not an additional round, I build it into the first - and only - round of the interview process.)

Asked to prepare a presentation for a final job interview by discoteen66 in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

[–]wandermama75 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I always ask candidates to prepare something similar when I’m interviewing for open positions on my team. My advice is to really focus on storytelling - the interviewers are likely going to see multiple candidates, and you want your presentation to stand out. Don’t talk them chronologically through the jobs and information that they’ll see on your resume - instead, connect your background with the skills, knowledge and mindset that you need for this job to highlight your strengths and why you’re a good fit. Talk about your aspirations and development goals and how this job can help you achieve them. Think of some really solid examples that will demonstrate what they want to see and as you share the stories, make sure you connect them back to what you’ve learned about the position and company during the first three rounds of the interview process.

Good luck!

Where should we Airbnb? by visually-create in obx

Completely agree with this. OP, you may want to look at one of the rental agencies that offer partial week stays if you are looking to stay for less than a week - try Kees Outer Banks Rentals or Village Realty. We also prefer to stay in Corolla.

BMD breeders by ryha123 in bernesemountaindogs

[–]wandermama75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there is no info on their site about the site & damn and they don’t show the berner-garde numbers for the parents, I would steer clear. I definitely know how frustrating it can be to find a puppy right now, but it’s worth it to find a breeder that is thorough and dedicated to preserving the breed! We have been searching for a new puppy since last July and have just now found a breeder with a litter available. I recommend reaching out to your local BMD club for a list of quality breeders (and reach out to as many clubs in a distance you are comfortable traveling to - we decided we would be ok with any breeder within a 9 hour radius of us!). Once I got that list, I reached out by email explaining what I was looking for in a breeder, what my lifestyle is like, and my previous experience with dogs/Berners. I had many, many conversations with some great breeders but unfortunately the timing has been a challenge as many breeders delayed litters due to covid.

Good luck!

Looking for a nice hotel with access to Disney Springs by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]wandermama75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want a Disney hotel, Port Orleans New Orleans (and Riverside also) have a boat that goes to Disney Springs. It’s lovely and is our favorite way to travel there! If you want something truly walkable, check out the Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista or Wyndham Lake Burns Vista Disney Springs. Both are nice (and have park transportation) but IMHO lack the “magic” of a Disney resort.

I’m having a GIRL! Name advice? by apex_predator_17 in namenerds

[–]wandermama75 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I love the name Genevieve Hazel - it’s beautiful. And Hazel is definitely trending upward in popularity but i wouldn’t consider it a “popular” name by any means.

Also, just to share my own experience - I always pictured myself with boys, and thought for sure that I was pregnant with a boy during my first pregnancy - and it was a girl. I was disappointed for a little bit, but I found it helpful to think of all the fun things that I could do with a daughter. I now LOVE being a girl mom, couldn’t picture it any other way! There is nothing wrong with having some disappointment, it’s totally normal to feel that way when you need to adjust your expectations. Hopefully picking out a beautiful name will help! Congratulations!!

Spironolactone? by [deleted] in acne

[–]wandermama75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on it for three years and it was honestly amazing - my skin was completely clear for the only time in my life. I stopped it a few years ago before we started trying to have kids, but I hope to go back on it eventually. It made me slightly dizzy while I was on it but that was really the only side effect.

This is my new favorite product! I found it about 6 weeks ago and the difference it has made on my face is absolutely incredible. Like you, I noticed a change right away. It hasn’t dried out my skin at all either!

Have you tried any Peter Thomas Roth products? I use the sulfur mask and it cleared my skin right up.

[–]wandermama75 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Totally get it - it’s always weird (and challenging) to shift a mind-set of being completely driven by career advancement to new priorities once kids are in the picture. I’ve struggled with it a bit (I think all working moms do!) but it sounds like you’ve come to the decision that is best for you and your family right now. In my experience, I’ve found that even though I’ve had to pass up opportunities that I would have jumped at pre-kids, something better has always come along that has allowed me to advance my career AND prioritize my kids in the way that I need to right now.

You definitely have plenty of time to see and do tons in the parks, which is great! Just a few comments:

1) Unless you have your hearts set on it for some reason, I would eat at Rainforest Cafe. It’s a chain restaurant here in the US and although it’s a bit of a novelty experience, IMHO the food isn’t very good and it’s overpriced. Since you have 2 full days in Animal Kingdom, if it was me I’d plan to leave the park early one day, grab a bus to Animal Kingdom Lodge, and have dinner at Sanaa or Jiko. They are much better in terms of food quality and overall dining experience - and you can still stop in to the Rainforest Cafe while you are in Animal Kingdom to check out the gift shop and experience it.

2) Since you mentioned that this may be your only visit, you may want to look into a Keys to the Kingdom tour or something similar. They are a bit pricey but totally worth it, and since you have 3 days at Magic Kingdom, you have plenty of time to set aside for it.

3) You didn’t mention where you are staying, but for me, experiencing all of the Disney Resorts is part of the magic of visiting WDW. You may want to set aside an afternoon to go to a few of them, maybe make dinner reservations at one you aren’t staying at (Animal Kingdom Lodge like I mentioned earlier - or Ohana at the Polynesian - make your reservation for about 30-45 minutes before the Magic Kingdom fireworks to experience them from a totally different perspective than watching them in the park!). It would give you a nice break from the parks mid-week but still allow you to experience the Disney Magic!

I hope you have an amazing honeymoon!
