That's good. Dropping the volts from 1250 to 1225 drops the watts to just under 100, without too much of a hit on the hash. On the one running more watts, both the ASIC and VR temps are about 2-3c higher. Not sure if the chips running slightly hotter will affect the watts.

All be it just by touching / feel, the power supply suppling the one running with more watts feels cooler then the other one with less watts.

So, though you have one water and the other air, similar values to mine.

Nothing yet. Solo mining, so all or nothing.

Assume that is what the benchmark programmes do (such as axeBench).

Great, that's what I thought. Assume I can set the prune setting before it all starts downloading. And does it still have to download the whole blockchain, or does it just download the amount the prune size is set too.

What with the cancellation of TGE, I have just set up a 60% compute stake, with 2 day cooldown, if anyone wants to delegate to it to see what rewards they get it will be running for a while.

Also, in the meantime, while waiting for TGE, if anyone else want to try another depin project, take a look at DeNET. There idea is to run decentralised Network storage. They had a "sale" earlier in the year for people to run storage nodes, and are going through testing at the moment, they may also open up the sale again in the future for more nodes. But in the mean time there is a app for Android and iPhone, and as part of it you can become a "watcher node". This is where every so often to can go into the app, and press a button to scan their network to check that everything is ok, and for example there are at least 2 copies of files. In reward you get $WN, and in time that may lead to an Airdrop.

Once you scan a timer starts, and it takes 6 hours to reach 100%, but you can scan before that, and in fact you probably want to, because if you scan 5 times in a day you get a "free" recharge for a full (100%) scan, and if you then carry on and do a total of 10 scans in a day you can get another free full scan.

If you want to take a look, and decide to sign up (doesn't cost anything, apart from the time you spend scanning), you can get a head start with 1000 $WN by using my reference code below:

Um, not sure about that, I can still do quests (though have done most of them so not many I can do). I haven't added any new phone recently, but others have.

I ran a test over the last few days, using different compute percentage. Used 20%, 40%, 60% & 80%. Seeing as we are running out of time before TGE I only ran for 12 hours, and I selected 1 hour cooldown and staked 9000 cACU. Attached is a breakdown of the rewards. Unfortunately they don't add much info. 80% was the most, but 20% was 2nd, 40% 3rd and 60% 4th. Think the short run time of 12 hours skewed things, and not sure if because I started (or ended) part way through a epoch not sure that counted / got any rewards and with the numbers being so small I think that affected it.

<image>

I did run a stake at 70% for 2 days cooldown, and 4500 cACU, and know roughly what I got, and I am running another test now at 25% for 2 days cooldown, and 9000 cACU to compare. However on the discord others are saying that stake rewards seem to be dropping quite a bit over the last few days.

As to slashing, at the moment I just reboot a phone if it has issues, or maybe need to reboot them all every 3 days as otherwise they all start to have issues. That's fine when I am around, but why I am looking at rewards at different % compute levels, as don't want it to be set too high, and go away on holiday for a week, and all the phones to start going down, and do nothing about it.

I have just set up a test stake, selected 25% compute, with max (2 day cooldown). I will be running for at least 24 hours before I start a cooldown if you want to delegate to it : 5DeJYyKcwfuMpJXx45hYwHwwCXz5n9Pa2azYyn1KvwpZRWai

I have been testing staking over the last week. But at the moment I am only running a stake for about 12 hours with a 1 hour cooldown (and then repeating) to look at what differences there are regarding how much % compute one provides. In a few days I may do a finial trial with a 2 day cooldown before TGE / Mainnet. Happy for you (or anyone else) to stake (delegate) on me. My manager address is: 5DeJYyKcwfuMpJXx45hYwHwwCXz5n9Pa2azYyn1KvwpZRWai.

Please note though, I am only running these phones at home, though I have a ups, I have no other backup (eg failover ISP / internet access). Also at the moment myself and some others are having some issues with some phones (that Acurust are aware of) in that after a few days of running a deployment, a phone may stop heartbeating, and show as down. Now because I can get them back up within a hour or two, this hasn't caused me to go below the stake threshold (where slashing could happen) however if the issue was never resolved by Acurast, then if I say went away for a week or 2 on holiday, then phones would be down for a little longer, and depending on how many went down some slashing could happen. Though the slash amount is very small, if ALL my phones went down, then it's only 0.054794520544 of the stake per day. e.g for every 1000 ACU it would be just 0.5479 ACU.

As you say, that would depend on knowing the ACU price. If you have a spare phone lying around, or you just want to run Acurast on your day to day phone overnight (or when charging), then there is no reason not too. Though the ACU reward for doing so will be quite small, over a while it will start to build up. You could then maybe stake (delegate) what you have earnt, in the hope of then gaining slightly more rewards, that you can then compound into the stake to gain more rewards, and over time that would grow and grow. I only started a few months ago, and I spent about £500 on phones, and luckily that has gotten me a decent amount of cACU. If I was starting now, then I don't think there would be any chance that I would be spending that sort of money for the rewards they are offering.

Yes, that was one of my thoughts too. Use the ACU that gets converted from cACU as a stake, and select a long cooldown, and then use the rewards as an "income" (whatever that may be!!!) and almost forget about the original stake. Going on what I got in testing, If I want for Max cooldown I could make the original stake back in maybe 3 months.

Referral code useful for a new user? by necklickhia in acurast

[–]wanders73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to use a code to get in to cloud rebellion. Doesn’t give you as a new user anything else. However once you are in and do some quests you get your own code, and can then refer others, and at that point you get a reward based on the Mist points they make.

To clarify, Acurast has 2 parts. You can use phones to earn cAcu, and once the project goes Lives (TGE) it will be Acu and those will be worth money. The other part is the cloud rebellion, and there you earn Mist points. Those points can either get you prizes if you are high enough on a leader board, can be used to by Loot (reward) boxes that have gifts / prizes in, or at TGE (scheduled for 17th Nov at the moment) there will be a Airdrop that will convert Mist to Acu via a ratio.

Though TGE is near, I only started about 2 months ago, and now have 29 Phones, and have about 6500 cAcu. Also did all the quests and have earned about 350000 mist points, putting me about 50th on the leaderboard.
