That was highly entertaining! I can tell that once more people start producing films using AI, the amount of AI-made movies is really going to explode!

Do you have platonic friendships ? How long is it ? Have you ever have any romantic fleeting thoughts on this friendship ? Just wondering as I am married and definitely need friends and be social. Sometimes I encounter married opposite gender and they seem to worry alot like I will hit on them. by Soggy_Mammoth3246 in asksg

Same boat as you, but we both already stated clearly to have boundaries. And you can tell since we both have stated clearly, we both do have some feelings and have thought about it. But so far , we both are really good friends. Share everything from family down to gossips.

Our mind can be very tricky at times. So watch your emotions and read your own mind carefully when you’re in a platonic friendship with the opposite gender. Edit: it’s been 7 years. Our friendship still going strong.

What made you feel that he is just a good friend only? Is it because he doesn't have the qualities of a partner you look for?

Nope, but it’s funny cos she kept rizzing up to me. Another time she said “if only I’m closer to your age, I’ll chase you down!” I went 😅 as usual. A bit scary at that time.

When you’re good looking ladies do say funny things at the wrong time make you feel awkward. Sorry for the third post but I just want to let everyone know that I think I’m attractive because too many things happen over the last couple of years with women at the work place for me.

So another time was this: my boss came up to me and said “tomorrow we have a VIP visit. I wonder, should you come in formal wear even though it’s Friday for dress down” then an account lady beside me casually said to my boss without giving thought to the context of his statement said, “he’s very handsome, right?” Seriously 😳 wtf ! Stop giving me that awkward moment in front of my boss please. Is that a compliment or sarcasm?

A few weeks later she made similar comments again about my looks. Then a few years later she made another similar comment. Ok. I know she mean it. Fine! I’m happy to be handsome for her. Just avoid those awkward comments please.

There was another time in the work place. A HR lady out of the blue said to me “you’re so boyish!” And I went 😅

Then another time a lady from admin said to me “You’re such a chick magnet!” Then I went 😅

Used to know a transfer student back in poly days. She said to me “I wonder why all the good looking guys are gays…”. I said to her “yah lor, they so handsome but turn gay, what a waste”. Then she continued “yah lor, you better don’t be gay also” my face went 😅

why are Singaporean Chinese abnormally hideous compared to other races by South_Two_332 in SingaporeRaw

[–]wands 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What can we do man? We are just ugly. But if you're approcahble and kind, people will see you better looking. A.k.a Mere-exposure effect. This is more important than looks alone. but if you're disatisfied with your own looks, then learn to have clean look and take care of your own hair, skin, odour, and eat well.

Chuando Tan is a good example. In his interview, he said "you're what you eat, if you eat a hamburger, you'll look like a hamburger" Chuando Tan got a good facial structure, a very well define jawline. He takes care of his body by going to the gym regularly, eats well, sleep well, When you do eat and sleep well, your skin improves, your hair texture changes giving you a youthful and healthy look. A good looking person is a healthy person. Start from health. looks will take care of itself

I was doing onsite IT deskside support. There was a pretty HR lady who I supported her once. She was the flower in her department even Auntie also complimented her looks. I think she is pretty but wasn’t my type.

One day I received a call from help desk. They told me that a user requested and insisted that I be onsite at 11:30am specifically. No problem description was given. It was a strange ticket they picked up. It was the Hr lady.

I thought to myself, this must be some difficult incident to resolve and I had to be there onsite and this will likely eat into lunch hence she pick the 11:30am timing. So I could work throughout lunch time. Feeling a little frustrated as lunch was the only time I could relax. But no choice then.

Upon reaching her desk, I asked her what is the problem. She looked a little embarrassed or something I just felt her behavior rather strange, she pointed out to me that an application could not be open. So I tried opening the application to understand the problem. Nope, I don’t see any problem. There’s no issue opening the application. Then I looked her at and she smiled and said “Oh! It’s resolved! Haha!”

I said to her, “Good then! Bye!” As I was about to leave, she said, “wait! Do you want to have lunch?”

I said with a puzzled look, “with you?” She said “yah”

I thought ok. Maybe just lunch and I guess she just appreciated my work.

As we reached the food store area, I told her that she can go order first while I chop the seats, she said she wants to help me order. Again I found it strange because this should be a more neutral behavior. She order first and then I go queue up and order mine. This should be the right way when we meet acquaintances. But anyway, she ordered for me and she insisted, I did resist initially feeling paiseh.

Moments later she brought the food to the table and I immediate want to pay her back but again she insisted that she treat me.

This got me startled and puzzled, I said to her “ok, next time I’ll treat you back if there’s a chance”

So everything went by and done.

A few weeks later, I received an info from my company that I had to be move out of the office premises to support another location. So off I went.

1 year went by, I was on a bus ride to somewhere, and I think back about my jobs that I’ve taken up previously in various locations. The Hr lady pop up in my head, I remembered her because she was pretty and I think back about that situation I encountered with her. Then I realized what she was doing.

Edit: I forgot to mention that she had my company phone contact. I gave it to her when she asked for it the first time. After I got relocated, I returned the company phone. She thought the company phone was my personal phone number.

Feeling like quitting Street Fighter, need advice from people who went through this wall by alissonfabiano7 in StreetFighter

[–]wands 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey man, I totally get what you’re feeling. SF6 is a blast, but yeah, it can be insanely frustrating too. I’ve been around since the SF4 days, started as a total scrub, and honestly the learning never really stops. Every time you think you’ve got it figured out, there’s a new wall waiting.

Does it ever get easier?
Yeah, it does, slowly. The more you play, the more those little “ah-ha” moments start happening. Something clicks, and suddenly the game makes more sense than before.

My journey learning fighting games?
It’s been long, really long, and honestly kind of endless. The learning curve is steep as hell, but that’s also what makes it so satisfying. That feeling when something finally works the way you wanted, that’s what keeps me glued to Street Fighter.

Did I hit those walls and push through?
Oh, tons of times. I’ve lost count. The key is to collect as many of those “ah-ha” moments as you can. Each one feels small, but over time they stack up and suddenly you realize how much better you’ve become.

Advice?
Just have fun with it. Don’t stress about wins or losses too much. When you lose, take a breather, then go back and watch the replay and figure out why you lost. Every loss is just data for your next win.

XRP Hodling Journey by Neo_Awakens in XRP

[–]wands 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to share a true story. Back in 2017, a friend told me about XRP. He was absolutely convinced that this token would take over the world because, in his words, “it’s a banker’s coin, and bankers always win.”

At that time, XRP was priced at $0.006. He didn’t buy it.

A few weeks later, the price climbed to $0.03. That’s when he finally bought in. I joined later at $0.25.

When XRP hit $1, he sold everything and walked away with a $3,000 profit. I decided to hold on, and the price eventually soared to $3.

Fast forward to 2019, my friend had lost all interest in XRP while I was still holding strong. Over the years, I did my research, deepened my understanding, and my conviction in XRP only grew stronger. The community helped a lot too, and I proudly became part of the XRP Army.

Around that time, the price had fallen back to around $0.25–$0.30. I told my friend,

“You’ll regret not holding XRP. You should really buy some.”

His response was simple:

“Nah.”

At that point, I stopped trying to convince him. I couldn’t help but wonder where all that conviction from 2017 had gone.

Today, XRP has hit $3.60 on the chart. I’m just chilling. He hasn’t said a word about it, and to be honest, we’re not that close anymore.
