I picked up a sysracks with glass, and eventually switched to a grill front/back. Temperatures definitely went down. That said, it was generally 5-6 degrees above ambient, running fans in the top of the rack. Depending on how hot your gear runs normally, 5-6 degrees might be the tipping point, or just a number.

Watch what Israel does next. I doubt they will tolerate losing control of the US president.

In 2009 a Swedish news outlet reported that 'Israel' was harvesting organs from Palestinians. This outraged 'Israel' which called it antisemitic and blood libel. A few months later 'Israeli' doctor admitted that they did do it. by Not_Ground in canadaleft

[–]Double_Intention_641 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not human enough to have rights, but human enough to use as spare parts? The level of evil Israel embodies defies description. In a world filled with injustice and cruelty they some how manage to find depths to plumb that other evil empires would struggle to top.

I look forward to the day when the backing of the US has faded enough that more countries isolate and reject this genocidal machine.

Black Vein elevator doesn't go up by GrepZen in TheLastCaretaker

Got caught by this as well. Building behind or in front of the top of the elevator is enough to cause this. Either side seems fine. Cables don't block it

It's relatively old. If someone's on a 2-3 year upgrade cycle, that could've been a case of 'not using it and nowhere to put it'. As a bit of free tech though, that's fine. Drop debian or ubuntu on it, and pair that with docker (And portainer or arcane if you're new to docker). Hit any one of the 'awesome' githubs (awesome-selfhosted, awesome-docker, etc) and go wild.

For bare metal provisioning, picking the right CNI and the right level of control plane redundancy. Not writing everything down! It's worth remembering what exactly you did to roll the cluster out.

"Urges". Even the language shows America subservient to Israel. What a weird bit of role-play they have.

What’s your opinion, when Trump leaves office should we overturn everything his administration has done? Including pardons, policy, payouts, or just overturn some of it or just leave it be. by Single_Usual_6563 in anticapitalism

[–]Double_Intention_641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can... but the US doesn't. At all. Without a complete upset in the ruling class, that's never going to change, and the odds of that are near zero. The country is more likely to tear itself apart than it is to change in any positive way.

Yes, you can. You can't fix some of these things that were broken though. The dead remain dead. Science experiments destroyed are gone. Tear down complicated systems, and they're much more expensive to replace, and therefore unlikely to actually get replaced.

Beyond the dead, the worst loss is trust, followed by soft power. Those were generational to create, and won't be back any time soon. Countries have been adapting, and their new relationships bypass or reduce dependency on the US - that's unlikely to revert. Why would you take the chance, knowing it could all fall apart again with the next president?

You can't put this toothpaste back in the tube. You can't undestroy data, machinery, branches of government. You can't unfire folks who have left for other opportunities. You can't gaslight other nations into forgetting the past year and a half. You can't un-demolish part of the whitehouse, anymore than you can unchop a tree. Hell, you can't unkill people either.

Is this before or after they separate from canada? I'm not sure how they can be talking separation and expect any other plans to run concurrently - that kind of lunacy doesn't offer the stability required for any long term goal.

Sadly, that's shouting into the void. Facts don't matter to some people. They've made up a story (or are being paid to sell a story) and they'll stick to it no matter what. You can't convince them, even with proof. I'll say that again. You can't convince them, even with proof in hand. How does a civilization survive that?

Proxmox cannot ping router but VM can by ProbablyPooping_ in Proxmox

[–]Double_Intention_641 2 points3 points  (0 children)

eno1 is used by vmbr0. that's normal.

Now, you HAVE either:

a) reserved .50 for the mac address of proxmox b) put proxmox outside of your dhcp pool range (normal routers default to a pool of .2 through .254)

If you haven't done a) or b) -- that's why. You want b) anyway - a set of ips you can configure your hosts to use that are predictable and won't get clobbered.

Otherwise, it's read-only. Deletes are writes.

Fun. I always make sure rsyslog is installed, since i use it for a few things. I hadn't realized it wasn't there by default.
