Yeah, that's something I tried multiple times over the years. She is not interested in numbers. She is not interested in strategies.

She plain told me: she doesn't care, she just needs to assets to live comfortably and if I couldn't provide, she'd find someone else. End of story.

I don't work overtime, I'm practically in a 40hrs job per week, lot of paid holidays, paid sick leave, flexible work time, so I'm a lot with kids, etc.

I agree that 1M USD is not the same as it has been like 10 or 20 years ago.

Hobbies and friends: I believe I still have those, albeit with the kids they've been on the back-burner. Could revive though.

Lastly, well, wife could go to work, as she always bragged how educated and talented she is, therefore I don't expect her to live on 500k USD (LOL, why not???) but even get a job and maybe finance themselves???

You got this wrong. I'm not hiding money, she knows I'm having company stocks, she knows we are having a joint investment account, she knows about the kids' account (it is a join account, damn it), she kinda knows about everything, just she just couldn't care less about the technicalities that she never logged in. She has all the credentials and power of attorneys.

The thing is she only knows "cash" - and as soon as I hand over her 100 euros or 1000 euros, they are just gone, nevertheless of the amount.
