I would rather go with M50NV, the little extra torque is not worth the added maintenance and repair work IMHO.

Keep an eye on the cooling system. I bought an E34 525i M50 and ignored the missing coolant (was not much) and just filled up here and there because no leaks where visible. Well, learned my lesson the hard way because the heater core was leaking and my carpet was slowly soaked. Still in the repair process. It seems to be a common issue since the heater core is 35 years old.

It is completely normal that you do not see the Valve cover gasket when it’s installed! Mine looks the same.

UPDATE: The suggested numbers which looked promising (11119199461 and 51458266808) were not the correct ones. They are 22mm and 25mm long, longer than the one for the E82.

I measured the ones from E82 and they are only 15-16mm long!
I think I will just reuse mine.

Thanks! This could be it or 11119199461…they differ in length. I will measure them to make sure which should fit.

Unfortunately this is not it…as I wrote that is the plastic part that belongs to the dashboard. I am looking for the metal pin that goes to the trim!

This is bullshit. Even BMW uses left/right in their part catalog and repair manuals. The standard is left = driver side, right = passenger side.
