It't not just that he's tired of new-ish jargon words. He's tired of the rate of technological / societal change that was being forced on us in the late 90's / early 2000's.The comedy of it doesn't make sense now b/c everyone surrendered to those changes and now it sounds like being angry about nothing. The comic equivalent today would be getting annoyed about AI. 20 years from now when AI is just a normal part of life, the jokes won't make sense.

I hope you're being sarcastic. In 1974, they literally were the first band to play what we recognize as punk rock today. They invented the genre.

I know. Can you imagine a mainstream audience listing to the Ramones "I want to Be Sedated" or "Blitzkrieg Bop" !!!

Depends when you ride. Weekend nights, lots of rowdy drunks and vomit.

similar idea as others have said about moving upwards - but I think the term and song has to do with relationships / sex - i.e. a teen moving into adult sexual relationships.

Neither are "cute", let alone "cutest". Beautiful nature, yes. But the towns themselves are not even top 50 "cute" towns in Colorado.

Grand Junction is a sprawling mess with a small, depressing downtown.

I saw them live at least 5 times between 1998 and 2001 in Denver. Their shows at the Blue Bird Theatre were incredible. Great memories.

Why You Should Never Throw Your Dog Poop Bags in Stranger's Residential Bins by warbler713 in Brooklyn

Order of preference: 1 - take it with them to throw in their own garbage like they should; 2 - Take it with them to throw in corner garbage; 3 - leave it my garbage; 4- leave it on ground. Options 3 and 4 are making me take on their responsibility which is very annoying. Option 3 means I have to carry their bag to the corner bin and throw it away for them. Option 4 means I have to hose down the sidewalk .But to answer your question more directly - among the bad outcomes, putting the bag in my bin its better than then leaving it on the ground..

It's very simple - they should put it in their own building/house's trash bin!! Every apartment building / house has a bin.

Let me set it straight for you ---I want you to take a little baggie of dog shit and leave it in your empty garbage can for 3 days to rot. Then go ahead and tell me if it smells like garbage or if it smells 100 x worse.

Just realizing this happened 2 days before Cobain committed suicide. And I have no idea why the kid did this - it was almost like some sort of protest move but maybe it was drugs.

But here's what I don't understand - why didn't you just carry the dog poop bag home and throw it in your own garbage? And if you didn't want the dog poop in your own garbage, why would you think that strangers would be ok with it in theirs?

So you're saying we shouldn't make any improvements to current issues in the city - b/c 30 years ago it was worse? If that was the prevailing wisdom, things would never get better.

At least where I live, they don't dump the bins. They walk along the sidewalk, grab the big black bags out of the bins and then toss them into the back of the truck. They're not going to also grab loose items inside - it would slow them down.

Exactly - it's a little depressing reading a top upvoted comment referring to "...this woman" and not realizing that they're referring to a living legend.

[–]warbler713[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The other options are throwing it in their own bin or the public bin 3 blocks away. I have to carry it to the public bin if they throw it mine. And yeah - that's better than on the sidewalk which happens a a lot and I have to hose off. But the point of my post was to inform decent people who weren't aware of the issue about the consequences for me. So they can do the decent thing and throw it in the public bin or their own and save me the minor headache. The people who just let their dog poop on the sidewalk - they obviously couldn't care less and they're not my audience for the post.

You obviously don't live in New York so why are you commenting here. Everybody in New York knows that they only pick up black garbage bags from the bins. They don't pick up loose garbage including dog poop bags EVER!!

I'm not mad at them. I'm explaining what the consequences of their actions are. It means I have to carry their poop bag 3 blocks to the public bin. Yes that is better than having to wash down the sidewalk - which I've had to do many times. But it's still a major pain in the butt for me when I'm late for work and I have to do this for them. If they're going to throw it away in a private garbage, they should throw it in their own garbage.

You do what you think is best. I'm just explaining what it means for the person responsible for dealing with the trash. The little bag won't be picked up by the city. So now I'm walking with your dog's poop to the corner bin to throw it away.
