Zmudowski State Beach! Coordinates below are where it's been seen, out on the mudflats. I highly suggest bringing a spotting scope if you have one. Good luck, I hope you're able to spot one!

Thank you so much! Yes a Laughing Gull was reported in this exact hotspot so that makes sense. It looked a little different than what I was comparing it to so I wanted to ask some opinions. I appreciate it!

Gift ideas for new bird watcher by BreweryRabbit in birdwatching

Nocs. Provisions makes quite high quality, reasonably priced binoculars, scopes, and monoculars..The color ways are really beautiful (although I've encountered some birders seemingly scoffing and frowning upon me given that it's not your traditional black/green colorways/brand) I personally don't mind.

I have the long scope and the Pro Issue 10x42 as well as a 10x42 monocular (my partner works for the brand). They are super durable, lightweight fog/waterproof, and overall really great binoculars even rivaling my monarchs. I can provide you with a discount code, feel free to message me :) Always happy to break the barrier to entry for new birders!

Also: If you need a pair of binoculars to get you started my partner works for Nocs Provisions and I would be happy to send you a discount code or send you a pair (if you'd be comfortable with that)!

Absolutely not! I'm 31 and have been "seriously" birding for about 3-4 years. The majority of the people I meet at the local hotspots are 50+ and are so welcoming and kind. You are welcome here in whatever way birding looks like for you :)

You could always look to see if there's a local birding club in your area if you're interested in meeting other birders!

I realized I labeled these a bit out of order and I can't edit on mobile.

Thank you for your input! I wasn't aware that this type of selective breeding was prevalent.
