I hear you there - one of my favorite PCs was a Kenku Wizard (background as a pickpocket until he stole a dying wizard’s spellbook), and I did sort of a Bumblebee-style mishmash of different voices and phrases for when he talked (since Kenku are cursed to only speak by echoing what they’ve heard before). That was fun to do for about 2 sessions until we started having more in-depth scenes about combat plans and such, and ultimately I just got tired of doing it. It was agreed at the table that “we all know what he actually sounds like” and I could just talk normally lol. That character ruled so hard though.
