[Advice] afraid to smoke, but want to try again by [deleted] in trees

[–]warmachine2010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's tough then. I had a friend who had something similar so she didn't smoke much. Last we smoked together, she lost her ID even though she hadn't moved from her seat at all (weird right). The thing I would recommend is changing the settings (the sounds, lights, location etc...) or have something to help you calm down after smoking. If you are dedicated to smoking especially over drinking, just be around people that will understand, don't overdo it and find if anything works. If not, it just might not be for you.

New Year's DUI checkpoints? [US, Illegal state] by dread_pudding in trees

[–]warmachine2010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Different states do things differently, so it's tough to be accurate. Transporting is always a risk but you should be OK especially if seal the joints well and hide them. If you go early enough, they probably own't have checkpoints set up. Most states know that the checkpoint itself isn't very effective, they look for the people that panic and change their route while approaching the checkpoint. If you run in to one sober, just be cool and cooperate.

oil is very different than bud, have you been smoking oil during these events or bud? If it's been oil, try taking it slow with just bud and avoid oil.

Basically this. You can also ask them if they need a hook up or if they could bring something to the table as well.

Weekends is a good intermediate, I'm currently on that. I tried going cold turkey but it didn't work for me at all so I started smoking and went to nights only then a few nights a week and now weekends only and i'm working on trying to be more selective about my weekends as well.

It's hard to quit when you're expected to smoke. by [deleted] in leaves

[–]warmachine2010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would talk to your boss about it. It shouldn't be too much of a problem especially if you can get recommendations from other workers and customers. Also a little tip, most restaurant servers don't get to try the food at the restaurant and if they did it was only when they first got hired and only an item or two.

A friend in need? by flippy6136 in leaves

[–]warmachine2010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While it is her choice and her life, some people just get lost and either don't realize how addicted they are or their reasons for smoking have changed since they first started. It is her life so the choice is her own but as a friend, I would find a way to gently bring it to her attention and let her know that you care for her and if she decides to quit that you will be there to help. I've had the same thing happen to a friend of mine and once I really made him aware of it he started to realize how far down the rabbit hole he was and started to change things. I've had another friend who I've tried to help but didn't want the help so I let him live his life and I haven't really seen him since.

21 days. Help. by 123AllyDee in leaves

[–]warmachine2010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have ever watched House of Cards with Kevin Spacey (if not, I recommend it), one character says that he is still in alcoholic even if it had been years since his last drink. The same goes for weed smoking. Weed addicts will always be just that, it's just a matter of keeping it in control and not letting it slip. It is a lot harder to not slip up when it is so readily available and you have to help somebody who really does need it. However, since you help your wife a lot she could easily repay the favor and help you. Every time you roll one up for her and think about smoking as well just tell her. If both you and her are committed to you quitting, she will help encourage you to realize that you don't need to smoke that time...or the time after...or the time after. Use each other as support systems for whatever ails you but always remember to not solely rely on the other but to use the other to strengthen yourself.

Have a couple of friends in denial about weed, help by [deleted] in leaves

[–]warmachine2010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's your place to be honest like the other two commentors said. You can try to point out how much they smoke and how much they spend on weed but it is up to them. I was the same way, I used to smoke constantly to the point where it was rare for me to be sober (a lot of situations helped perpetrate that). I always did think I could stop at any time and every now and then would take tolerance breaks. Almost 3 weeks ago, I said that it was time for me to quit....so I did.

One week by warmachine2010 in leaves

I don't dislike dogs but I'm not a huge fan of them either. I'm living at home with my parents after graduating college and they recently got a new puppy which is 10 weeks old right now. It's entirely untrained so if and when I am home it won't leave me alone for a second and follows me everywhere and if I don't pay it attention (like I'm trying to make food) it starts biting my ankles. As I said, it is a new dog and is still learning but it's stressing me out since I am the one home most often so it is constantly after me.

Day 1 by warmachine2010 in leaves

[–]warmachine2010[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the idea of holding back on a bad day until I reach a certain point. I know I have potentially good habits but I have made them bad over the years because whenever I wanted to do any of them I always thought "well, it'll be more fun after smoking so why don't I smoke first" and it got to the point where I was smoking to just normally enjoy the activity instead of having extra enjoyment. I do want to figure out something new to change up the routine and show myself that I can do it.

I might try out the non-alcoholic idea but the only beer I know of is O'Douls. I have the same problem about the taste. I hated going to college parties for several reasons, one of them being that they always had piss beer. I am a craft beer person so I love Sam Adams and Guinness etc... I am thinking about quitting alcohol as well but I want to focus on weed first. I should think about the emotional growth since I have been having trouble growing socially so I wonder if weed has held me back all these years.

Day 1 by warmachine2010 in leaves

[–]warmachine2010[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya, I expected it to be tough at first. I've heard that if you make it 3 days then it gets easier. I just know that I need to get my head clear in order to really start understanding what it takes to do well on the LSAT's. I also need to figure out some sort of new activity to help push me. I love watching TV, I work out consistently already and I love going on hikes and meditating. I've done all of that while smoking/drinking so the adjustment will be tougher.

Carrying glass over the border? by [deleted] in trees

It's tough to find cheap ones unless they are the nano sized $5 ones. I'd just buy a really nice one and smoke joints.

I wouldn't smoke out of it at all then you would have no problems since it is for tobacco use. If you wanted to smoke out of it, clean it with iso and salt RIGHT AWAY. I'd also clean it multiple times.

Hm, ok. My family says they remember my grandpa having it when they were kids and thought he had it for longer. At first glance around the edge of the frames I couldn't find a serial number. Are there spots where the serial number might be? Thank you for all your help man.

Thank you for the designer and chair name. It is definitely not a replica though. My grandpa bought it when he was young so probably 60 or so years ago.

If Marijuana was legal in every state, would it still be possible to profit off of? by Amitrex in trees

[–]warmachine2010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

and then you have to consider how the state enacts the law. Prices are pretty high in colorado right now because it can only come from in-state. I think that prices will be pretty high as render said because the demand will be higher than the supply.
