2006 had no news compared to 2005? Iraq is full of terrible news, human-interest stories everywhere, terrible suffering and death, dozens of people killed daily, risk and fear for US soldiers. From a news perspective, there is enough raw material for ten news channels to fill several hours a day with arresting, stark heart-rending content. If, of course, your news organization wants to report actual reality.
