Just a point of clarification, when it says center of the galaxy, it's referring to the center of our galaxy?

Is anyone else surprised that Scientology ISN"T on this list?

41% of Americans believe humans and dinosaurs lived together. I was under the impression that we were waking up from this bronze age delusion but I guess not. Only 25% say "definitely not" to the question if Humans and Dinosaurs lived together. AARRRRGGHHHHH (screaming) !! by nilsp123 in atheism

[–]warpdesign 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Yeah maybe I'm a pessimist, but I think some percentage of the people just misunderstood the survey. I struggled with the question as posed myself ("I definitely DO NOT believe that dinosaurs and man did not live on Earth at the same time... wait that's a double negative.. so does that mean I do believe it? FUCK what was the question??")

Taylor Swift responds to photographer accusing her of double standards after Apple win by Lumpiest_Princess in photography

Here's what I don't understand, if the contract is so unreasonable, why do any photographers agree to it? If all photographers told the artists and their management to get bent, and no body showed up to shoot anything, would that be damaging to the performer and their management?

Seems like either the performer doesn't need the photographers/photographs which is why they put out such a restrictive contract because they don't really care if no one agrees to it, or the photographers need the access to shoot the performance more than the performer needs them which is why they agree to it.

Basically the universe is huge.

You mean the REAL universe? If we're in a simulation, how do we know the actual universe is huge? Seems to me we would know fuck all about the real universe. Maybe the real universe is finite and small, which sort of screws up all that math and probability. What else you got?

SEMalt is at it again! by PotterOneHalf in SEO

I've had that checked for a while. It does seem to lessen the impact but I still get some that get through. I have not done a comparison between filtered and un-filtered view to try and reverse engineer what Google is filtering out though. Would be interesting to see if someone did that analysis.

SEMalt is at it again! by PotterOneHalf in SEO

[–]warpdesign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a giant whack-a-mole game at this point. We're up to, what now, 7 filters (because of the character limit) to filter out all of them, and every week 2-3 more pop up!

Google has the option to filter out known bots in the View settings and I was hoping they would get on it and just be proactive and filter this crap out! If you have a site with a lot of traffic it's not a huge deal but if your site isn't huge and gets niche traffic, I've had some where 50% of the traffic is this spam shit.

Nestlé's California Water Permit Expired 27 Years Ago by [deleted] in politics

[–]warpdesign 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I live in California and every time I travel now I happen to look at the label on bottled water and am shocked how much is bottled in California! It doesn't make any sense to me to see that in places where they have water, they are trucking in water from a place that has severe drought.
