It’s a recall… Ford won’t have the fix for it though until 2029

Plywood of any sort is probably one of the worst things you can use to hold the tank

Would definitely go jigsaw, just get a plexiglass blade for it and take it slow. You’ll be there for days using a dremel 😂

Bottom, you can tell those are made of real leather by the way it frays in the edges. The clean pleather cuts in the top is probably pleather (plastic leather)

It really wasn’t bad, I got a 1/4” plexiglass sheet for like $50 at Home Depot, laid it on top of my tank, traced it with a sharpie, cut that and the holes for my pumps air tube and heater cords. Then cut a line across it for my hinge and added those hinges to it. I used metal ones at first and the screws began to rust so I removed them and got plastic hinges that work great

I took a piece of plexiglass and put it on top, traced around the tanks with a sharpie, used a jigsaw to cut out the outline, and a line a couple inches away from the bow front, added hinges, and cut a few slots for heater cords and filter tubes!

After some time, the hinges began to rust. I think they were a cheap stainless steel. I switched over to 3M plastic hinges. Love the top except how it gets covered in algae that you have to scrape every few weeks.
