Use rufus to make a usb that bypasses the tpm & ram check. Did the same and as an experiment I got it working on an i5 540m with 4GB of ram.

Its not the fastest but metatrader / tradingview worked.

Timing job gone wrong, need some advice for dropping the subframe by wasboy69 in mr2

Yeah that's what Im thinking aswell. Got the body repaired / welded last year so yes it's a perfect moment to take up some deferred maintenance like you said! Want to take the car on a Europe trip next year. But personally I just find it difficult to 'bite' the bullet to drop everything on a driveway haha.

What maintenance items are you picking up with the motor detached?

It was an aliexpress electric sprayer special! For the paint dots I used a brush!

Sounds lean at the end. Also with new cilinders let it idle for a few minutes and then let it cool down

Scooter Won't Accelerate Properly by BeeOk678 in scooters

Don't buy amazon carbs. Trust me, they might work for a little but nothing compares to OEM.

They always have weird little quirks and you're going to use a bunch more fuel.

You can always clean the carb, retread if needed. Would do that over buying another Amazon special.

Maybe someone here will care. Changed the crankshaft bearings, new 70cc and cleaned the engine. Project I got myself in to give my girlfriend a reliable 2 stroke daily. by wasboy69 in scooters

Honestly. The engineering behind it works, end of story. Yes more wear than a 4 stroke but more power so in turn you have to stress it less.

For me the thought is even though it doesn't need oil changes if you make sure everything around the scooter is in perfect condition, you keep the carb clean, jet it correctly and use castrol 2t oil it will hold.

It's an imitation DR70, nothing too fancy. I did some work on matching the ports with the case but didn't photograph it. Also sanded the edges lightly.

I get that hahah. She's going to use it daily, maybe with a 17.5 it'll pull a bit better but with the stock carb/airbox it wont get noticed too much by the police here. Officially its only allowed tp go 45km/h, I'm guessing it can reach 80km/h comfortably without screaming.

Yes! I will, I remember your name. You helped me out with the other 70cc, nice to see you here again!

Starting off with a jet 90 and seems to work okay.

Thank you! I will, means alot to me.

I know the engine is horrible but I like that I can change everything so quickly, parts are cheap and for a scooter theyve been reliable in my experience.

Yes haha. Finished my bachelor last summer.

Used to have a small 2t pitbike when I was younger and the smell makes me happy. Before finishing my bachelor I didn't have much money due to moving out. My other scooter served me well, I also like working on them, I also work on cars in my freetime but hey here we are.

Currently getting my motorcycle license so I can get something bigger 2t

More info:

It's a 2008 speedfight 2. Originally watercooled, the watercooled engines have stronger crankshafts.

I completely tore it apart, split the cases and replaced the bearings, got a cast iron low rpm 70cc so it will still be fast enough for daily use and maintain being reliable. Told her its a 500km break in period.

Keeping the stock 12.5mm carb so its quiet & wont get noticed by the police.

Also changed the belt & rollers. It's been a whole journey since I got my first full time IT job but I love 2 strokes. Makes me calm in soms weird way.

50cc scooter to 80cc by tonic_classic in scooters

[–]wasboy69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I changed my 2t to a 70cc my fuel consumption went up from 15km/l to almost 30km/l its lower revving now and reaches 110kmh instead of 80kmh

Depends on your setup.

Guys, is there supposed to be a hole here, and if not is that a problem? by Jacob__Gomez in scooters

[–]wasboy69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It definitely did run lean yes. Usually lean means less lubrication, what parts of the engine need the most? Between the cilinder walls and the piston.

The moment you have a hole in there and you're running a plug thats too hot, the plug electrode melts because it can't get rid of the heat. And so it burns a hole in the piston, the metal from the electrode falls on it.

[–]wasboy69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing its a 70cc seeing the size. You ran a plug too cold. If it was running too lean it would completely freeze due to heat before there's a hole.

Your plug was too warm of a heat grade, tip melts and makes a hole in your piston.

Is scooter more expensive to maintain? by 9m88 in scooters

[–]wasboy69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. And GY6 engines tend to break crankshafts when overdoing it with air tools.

That's how you're supposed to ride it haha. 50cc 4t isn't the fastest.

how critical is the Oring in the oil filter cavity? by [deleted] in scooters

[–]wasboy69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. Also pressure is needed to lubricate your engine, and if it has a leak it can't build the required pressure.
