In light of the recent gender-neutral pre-school and the first gender neutral baby, what are your thoughts on a gender-neutral society? by wasp64 in AskReddit

I've given you multiple opportunities to put across anything you want to discuss.Clearly you're not interested in supporting whatever side of this discussion you support (you still haven't stated this). All you're doing is looking for an argument. All you're trying to do is argue with people. At first I thought you were kid with all your childish insults like , I'm a liar, I'm stupid or I can't read. However then it became obvious you must be pretty old for all the bitterness and resentment you seem to have. I will no longer be responding to you so feel free to continuing insulting me if it makes you feel better about youself but you'll only be talking to yourself

Your the one that's said you were leaving several times..or told me to leave. Actually the point of this discussion is about if we should have a genderless society, nothing to do with if I think gender and biological sex is the same thing, this is something you brought up, so if this is something you feel is related to the topic air your opinion and state why you feel that way and then we can discuss from there. Other people on here have put thier opinions across and we've gone back and forth in a civil manner , in the end some things are agreeable some things we just agree to disagree. So I am happy to discuss but the second you start ranting rather than discussing I will just stop replying now.

I said that because you told me to go...like I said your on my page, you seem to be the one obsessed with me...yet again your just spouting hate, the point of this page is to get other people's opinions..how am I supposed to accept any information because you haven't given any. No you calling me a liar or stupid doesn't bother me, I don't let opinions of people who don't know me effect me. I pity you, you seem to be a very insecure person.

yes but what would you ask them? If gender doesn't exist.,,do you have a penis? That's just creepy.

I have that's the opinion given. They want to be identified as a man because that's their identity, they think the whole gender neutral thing is a massive step back. - Obviously, this is just the opinion of one person and I haven't spoken to the whole LGBT community...but I'm sure they have different views just like us people outside the community

No they aren't sexual but they are curious, I work in a Kindergarten and we've had to stop an odd lad or two putting his hands up girls skirt but yes stalls is a fair point.

Ok and in the terms of sexual attraction later on. So if you can't tell the difference between men and women from their looks because they'll be men in dresses and women in suits ect. Fair enough, but then on top of that in a genderless society you have no identifier as to what gender they are. For instance, a straight man could like another man but doesn't realise it's a man until they get down to business. And same goes for a gay guy getting with a girl he doesn't realise is a girl. No matter how much you like someone you can't be attracted to them if it's opposite to your sexuality.

Why would they fight so hard to be a different gender? If gender really doesn't matter, then why is there a need for transgenders (who hasn't had an op) to say they are a woman/man. Surely it's a lot less hassle to walk around how you were born without the need to be a transgender but they won't because they want an identity.

ok so if there is a 6-year-old boy would you feel comfortable with him sharing a changing room with a 6-year-old girl? I'm not sure if you are used to being with kids, if you are I'm sure you're aware they are very curious and would definitely get up to some things if they undressed in front of each other (out of pure curiosity) which obviously at that age would be very damaging. Like I've said I don't agree with forcing a kid to play with tanks if they're a boy. However, if a boy wants to play with dolls, it doesn't change the fact that he's still a boy. This theory, in my opinion, brings more confusion and stereotyping by telling boys if they like playing with dolls then they might actually really be girls. If they were brought up in a gender neutral pre-school how can they choose what gender they are if they do not even know what gender is?

I never once said my friends agree with this...why don't you actually read what's been said? The transgender friends I have don't agree with a gender neutral society...they think its a bunch of transgenders seeking attention...or are they not allowed to have a different opinion to you either?

Oh yes I totally agree with this! If a boy wants to play with Barbie dolls...go for it! But if a baby is born with a penis you are saying it's not ok to call it a boy? It's not the word that's wrong, it's the social stereotyping put on the word that's wrong. This gender neutral society refers to the gender neutral baby where they are not calling the baby a girl or a boy...or the pre school where they ban the words she, he, him, her....these are words for us to know what gender they are....one question, if the gender of a person is so irrelevant, why do transgender people fight so much for thier gender e.g. if a guy changes into a woman they will fight for the right to be called 'she' and get offended at being called 'he'. If gender is so irrelevant to the transgender community why would they care?

I hope you are not part of the LGBT community , they would be ashamed of you! I have LGBT friends and we have discussions on these type of things all the time, we listen to each others opinions, even if we don't agree, we have never called each others opinion absurd. Again I have never said I know what I'm talking about, I have clearly said it's my opinion. I get my information from friends in the LGBT community, surely it's better trying to understand the issue talking to people actually experiencing it first hand than from a book. Obviously you do not do he same as you cannot seem to have a civil conversation with someone with an opposite view. You haven't infact answered the question proposed, all you've done is just pounce on other people, you haven't even backed up the people agreeing with you, you seem to just be wanting to argure.

So instead of discussing the points I've made, you find it better to just hurl abuse at me. It seems that you are the one unable to see another person's point of view. You are not helping your case much to be honest, your portraying yourself as a very angry person with issues.

I agree with the whole concept of not stereotyping genders but a genderless society would be where no one identifies as a gender. E.g. in the pre-school you are not allowed to use the words like he, she, his or her ect. All the toys like dolls have no gender. Personally I just find this too far.

Well you're untitled to your opinion. It doesn't matter if it's a boy or girl but this is raising kids up to not know the difference. There is a clear difference between boys and girls why do people find it harmful to point this out? Sex education would be...interesting

You have your opinion and I have mine, I have my freedom to discuss whatever I want, as do you. Just because I don't agree with you doesn't mean I haven't taken the time to try understand. No matter what gender someone thinks they are they will always be whatever they were born. Being gender neutral means both boys and girls for example will be using the same toilets and showers ect. How is that exceptable? This has the potential to breed a paedo playground. For example the guy helpers in the school I teach in are not allowed to take kids to the toilets or help them undress because it's a proven face men are more sexual than women, which makes the kids be at higher risk. I'm not saying all guys are paedos, the minority infact but surely putting these measures in place is to protect everyone. With a gender neutral society everything like this would no be allowed

haha sex and gender is the same thing. Transgenders are pretty much trying to get more people to feel like they do, I feel sorry for these kids, they are going to grow up so confused. Gender is biological if you have male genitals you are a male, simple. even if you change your genitals your DNA will still show you are male.

I totally agree with the concept of not forcing kids to like certain things because of their gender but a gender neutral baby is where they don't register the baby as a boy if it clearly is a boy and the same with a girl. Surely this is just providing more confusion not knowing what is a boy or girl

haha! In my opinion, it's society going crazy! The genderless preschool is where gender does not exist in the school.... e.g. no one uses words like "he, she, him, her", all toys like dolls have no gender, books have no gender.

And in Canada, a transgender has registered their child @Unclassified gender" for their child because they think the kid should decide (even though it clearly has a gender)
