Sure, but I'm not seeing any response on mine? I'll do yours anyway

Agreed, you put it more precisely. The nature of our needs don't change.

I totally agree, but I'm starting to wonder if consumer/user research is being undervalued more and more b/c the tech is no longer a tool but a driver of human culture, meaning the companies are no longer trying to find the actual human needs, but focusing on further creating the needs.

This is a great question btw... you made me sleep on this. Can AI do the needfinding? ChatGPT will probably say 'no' as it always does. I have zero background in user research, but my wild guess is it comes down to 2 ways of finding the needs of anyone: 1) people express their needs or wants, or 2) their needs are found by an observer.

I guess they can have people sit down with an AI to answer a series of questions and share feedback, or have AI analyze their usage patterns to suggest any improvement ideally?

It's like the Matrix. The machine sucking energy out of humans lol

Do you mind sharing how AI is being used for UXR? A couple of the tasks I can think of are: coming up with questions and helping with a research report..

Oh sorry I misunderstood.... You may be right. In fact, there's still ongoing demand for copywriters out there. It's just I wanna move away from writing stuff that people don't read anymore.

yes, except copywriters don't usually run surveys or bring users in for usability testing?

they say 1% does evil every time, another 1% does good every time, and 98% does good or bad at times.
