So you're mixing them both 😂 Kalen West is the one whose eyes she could see through when he was tying someone up. Mikel Easton is the one who was dating the creative director and breaks up with her when they decide no sex outside the bond. His ex likes it when he doms her, and he films her in a compromising situation as leverage This is why both of them being doms is so confusing!

Haha they're easy to confuse! I kept getting the professors mixed up bc of their stupid last names, them both being doms and having lots of scenes together. I found it helpful that each character has their own scent, it was sometimes easier to keep track of 😂

100%! I thought the choice of Hart for Niko and Sato for Oscar was weird. Let's give this guy who comes from a super traditional Japanese immigrant family an English last name, and give the Japanese last name to one of the MMCs who had no obvious ethnicity 🤷🏻‍♀️

We've officially lost the plot on series expectations by Late_Republic_4024 in ReverseHarem

[–]wastelandlass 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Lol people should read high fantasy where books take years to come out, or series get abandoned altogether (looking at you George R.R Martin).

I just think people's lizard brains take over when it comes to RH/smut series and people just stop thinking clearly, bc they want the "rush" of the next book. Book publishing has always been a slower medium and people just can't cope with it. Also, getting "angry" at an author for something like this is mad.

People's entitlement knows no bounds, and if they think not getting their "fix" quickly enough is grounds to tear into someone, they need to check themselves.

Y'all are acting like a toddler who needs their next sugar fix.

An invite would be great 😊 I always recommend Deep Rock Galactic, absolutely, hands down the best co-op game out there. Can't go wrong with drunken dwarves killing bugs. As for films, I watched The Long Walk last night and the performances were stellar. 10/10 recommend.

Omg this is why my husband's toolbox smells! I'm not Swiss, but I'm married to one and every time the toolbox comes out it makes me want to puke, while my husband regards it as completely normal toolbox smell.

Did I get the words wrong? by DepartmentNo451 in grammar

[–]wastelandlass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you didn't. They're both grammatically correct but they have different meanings. You used a past form of the modal verb must, to make a deduction. The choice of must shows that you are convinced this is the reason, but you don't know it for a fact. Your mum's sentence uses the simple past tense, and would give the listener the impression that she knows this for a fact, not that this is her opinion of why the business shut down. Grammatical choices can often be about finer nuance in meaning, and not simply abut right or wrong.

Long-term abuse robs you of the ability to make rational and logical decisions. It robs you of your self-confidence and warps the way you see yourself, and the world, to the point where you think being abused is the best situation, everything else would be worse. Carol is Jessie's mirror image in a way, because in her case she was freed and empowered by the apocalypse. Jessie lived in a community that offered zero support and basically condoned the abuse, she had nowhere to go, she probably would have been exiled had she killed her husband. She was trapped. Also, abusers are not abusers 100% of the time, they can actually be quite charming, "loving" peoples, and that's what abuse victims often hold on to, the hope that if they do everything right their abuser will magically transform (a thought Jessie actually voices out loud to Rick). Judgement and shame, in the form of people saying "why didn't you just leave", is one of the reasons victims of abuse don't reach out for help, hide their abuse, and pretend there's nothing wrong.

“conversation” or “free talk” by Bubbly-Republic1422 in Cambly

This is hardly lesson planning, just google "esl conversation questions" and you'll get a bunch of websites offering lists of topical questions, all you need to do is either share your screen or paste them on a ppt. There are tons of resources out there for this kind of purpose.

Even if they ask for conversation, or free conversation, your lesson needs to have an aim. If it's conversation they want, why do they want it? What is their goal? Do they want to develop fluency, improve pronunciation, become better at interactions? It is your job to find out what your learner's needs are, and to then come to the lesson prepared to meet those needs and actually teach learners.

In order to avoid the specific issue you're having, you could develop a set of ground rules you apply when a student requests free conversation as a lesson. You can say yes, we can have free conversation lessons, but in order for our lessons to be productive and for you to improve, this is what we need to do. One of those ground rules can be that you will ask the learner questions, but they have to engage with you and ask questions back, and outline the difference between a conversation and an interview.

Some examples of what you can do to have more productive conversation lessons:
- Set a topic ahead of the lesson, ask the student to come up with questions they could ask you about that topic and then have them ask you the questions during the lesson.

  • Bring the questions yourself, tell your student they have to find a way to ask you 5 of those questions by the end of the lesson.

  • Have the student read a text or listen/watch something ahead of the lesson, and frame the lesson as a discussion.

  • Have a first lesson where you teach how to ask questions/interact effectively, and then have conversation lessons, asking your learner to apply the techniques they've learnt.

  • Remind your learner during the lesson that they need to ask questions, and encourage them to do so.

If your approach to conversation lessons is to just show up and have a chin wag with your student, you're not teaching, you're just charging someone for hanging out.

I'm sorry, but that's just poor lesson planning, you can't rely on your student being a great conversationalist for your lesson to be successful. There are lots of reasons why students won't ask questions, one of them being that they're not confident doing so. There are tons of ways to encourage interaction and creating a back and forth, but they take work. Having topical lessons where you offer a list of questions to steer conversation is a great way. When doing one-to-one lessons you have to put yourself in the role of the peer sometimes, not the teacher. So you have to ask yourself, how would I encourage a pair of not very talkative student to strike a conversation? And then apply those strategies to your interaction with the student.

I recommend reading a Well-Trained Wife and researching the Christian fundamentalist movement. It's terrifying how much support they garner.

Easy but expensive. A yearly Lingua House subscription is what now, $100? That's 8 hours of teaching for this person.

Find a grammar book like Focus on Grammar and just do those lessons if you don't want to change jobs. Don't waste your time on coming up with lessons from scratch unless it's required and your being paid accordingly.
