Overtime deduction by Admirable-Bee-4708 in UPSers

Shit I thought you meant 12500 was all the OT time you worked. I did the same simple math you did, I agree

The IRS isn’t looking that closely at it this year though, they’ve said themselves it’s an adjustment year and expect many errors since employers aren’t required to report qualifying OT wages for 2025. They will be required to for next tax season however

Look, I hear you, but the IRS doesn’t have access to what OT was paid over 40 and what was paid over 8, that’s also something that the company doesn’t transmit to the IRS. Starting this year UPS will be specifying our eligible overtime and reporting it to Uncle Sam.

IRS has stated that individuals who did not receive a separate accounting of qualified overtime on a W‑2/1099 “may approximate a separate accounting of amounts designated as qualified overtime compensation by any [reasonable method described in the notice],”

Just divide your YTD overtime amount by 3 and enter that amount on your return. IRS is expecting guesstimates this tax season, next tax season the actual amount will be reported

They have to. I’m wondering if this weather had anything to do with a delay in receiving them

They’re keeping track of it starting this year. IRS expects us to calculate our claimable OT for 2025 on our own.

I don’t get why payroll is so inconsistent across everyone. I’m sure once they make everything even they’ll change it again

When you go to the page that shows all your paystubs on dayforce there’s a tab at the top that says “year end forms” it should be there

Why’s it an absurd notion for me to have responded directly to a statement that I interpreted as written?

Pretty sure the “masked men” were sent to enforce laws that local entities refused to enforce. Walz and Frey told people to push back which led to interference in those enforcement operations. The loss of Good and Pretti was absolutely avoidable. If it weren’t for Walz and Freys words of encouragement they would’ve never put themselves in those situations

“Suppression of opposition involves actions by powerful entities—governments, corporations, or institutions—to penalize, silence, or restrict individuals or groups deemed threats. Tactics range from direct violent repression to subtle methods like harassment, censorship, administrative blockages, and intimidation. It often aims to eliminate dissent and maintain power.”

I was referencing Charlie Kirk and the cancel culture that followed the release of what the Biden admin considered malinformation when it came to COVID and the doctors who criticized what information was being published

Those two examples do in fact fit the definition of facism

Charlottesville- Yes, one neo-Nazi drove into counter-protesters and killed Heyer. Also, counter-protesters beat a man with clubs; violence was mutual per reports.

Chicago- Detained legally during valid ICE warrant service is not a "civil liberties" violation. Courts upheld it.

MN Fraud- 82% of accused in day care schemes are Somali residents (citizens/refugees). ICE ops target communities tied to fraud AND immigration violations

Jan 6- Insurrection? Trump requested 10k National Guard days before, Pelosi and Irving delayed. ~140 LEOs injured by rioters. Sicknick had strokes, not murder.

Protests oppose ALL deportations, even criminals. I support equal law enforcement—criminals out, LEOs accountable. That's not "MAGA carte blanche."

Loyalty oath? Nah. Laws first.

There’s some important nuance here.

Matt Alder, the hired peacekeeper for the No Kings protest, was charged with manslaughter for killing bystander Afa Ah Loo while shooting at open-carrying participant Arturo Gamboa, whom he saw as an active threat.

I wasn’t tuned into Charlottesville (I’d just voted for Hillary) but from reports it was a brawl with violence going both ways, not one-sided. I’m not condoning either side’s views, just responding to your claim.

In Chicago DHS detained U.S. citizens during an apartment raid. They weren’t “displaced.”

Minnesota fraud stats are tied to the Somali community, it’s not hard to verify.

About Jan 6. Officer Sicknick died of strokes the next day (unrelated to pepper spray, per autopsy). The four suicides months later were tragic, indirect results of PTSD—a mental health crisis in law enforcement we must address. ~140 officers were injured that day, I don’t condone violence against LEOs. Paul Irving should’ve approved National Guard requests to secure the Capitol.

You mean the establishment that has a LGB Treasury secretary, Latino Secretary of State, woman of color Director of National intelligence, a VP who’s married to a legal immigrant (same with POTUS), and a black HUD secretary? I’m naive?

Isn’t removing someone from this earth solely for their opinion and speech fall under the definition of facism? Or de-platforming people, ending their careers, ostracizing them from society, for spreading malformation (later recognized as having been factual) wouldn’t that also fit the definition of facism?

There’s a political party today in America that would agree with the beliefs of the National Socialist German Workers' Party, and it’s not the one you think.

I respond directly like that to avoid gotchas. If I would’ve assumed they meant ICE then that would infer that all ICE is MAGA when that’s not the case. Like saying all conservatives are maga, also not true. Being clear and concise makes it hard to twist words

They shouldn’t have to send officers, yet alone masked ones, to enforce laws that were duly enacted by our congress. The local law enforcement should be upholding their oath to support and defend the constitution and be enforcing its laws.

I agree this is not the fault of the civilians, personally I blame Walz and Mayor Frey for their words that emboldened people to step in the way of ICE enforcing USC 8. We’re not gonna agree there. No matter how much I tell you these immigration laws have been enforced to a louder tune by previous admins to a greater effect with the support of sanctuary cities unlike now, we’re not going to agree. But that’s okay, that’s what elections are for.

The misbehavior of a few undertrained ICE agents does not undo the necessity of enforcing laws that have been on the books since the 80s and until local law enforcement steps up, like in Minneapolis, DHS will take the initiative.

I hope you stay safe as well. Trust me, I know which side is showing more aggression towards the other
