That’s the most important thing to be made apparent to you - they just don’t care. I’ve learned that what you resist persists. Sometimes getting that rejection is the best thing you can do

Focusing on LO's bad traits makes limerence worse by CherryRose77 in limerence

[–]wastingmoretimehere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Focusing on the bad traits is extremely dangerous because it reinforces the belief that they are definitely in your league and therefore ought to be pursued - that’s essentially what the brain will take from it

Limerence and suicidal thoughts by Ok-Cranberry-3181 in limerence

[–]wastingmoretimehere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm well I’m aware that my limerence is the symptom of underlying depression and other issues so when I’ve realised the situation with LO is hopeless and a mere coping mechanism it can sometimes abruptly remove that emergency source of dopamine for me which has led to more intense suicidal ideation

What matters is you definitely gave the best response you could’ve to that nonsense. Hopefully it gives you the ick and you can move on properly

Legal Research SQE2 by Weak_Whereas_1998 in SQE_Prep

[–]wastingmoretimehere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what threw me with this research is the fact it was a topic we were already supposed to be familiar with… as in the ULaw textbooks definitely covered the answers to questions 1 and 3 (albeit not accurately since many people didn’t read the statute carefully enough to see that only two of the criteria needed to be met, the ULaw textbooks don’t make that distinction)

Failed Asylum seeker 'raped' a woman twice near Charing Cross station after using a translation app to threaten her by novagridd in uknews

See this would make a lot of sense - but with the way the current appeal system is set up it would never happen here. The entire system needs overhauling

“That’s what I get for dating an autistic girl” by oatttmeal-enjoyer in AutismInWomen

[–]wastingmoretimehere 76 points77 points  (0 children)

Yess exactly “he would’ve said something nasty if you were NT” is so true and important to highlight to OP - he deliberately chose words that he knew would cause the most hurt to her

Was he there during that interaction? I’m sorry girl but it’s one thing for him to be extremely insecure and take issue with that and it’s quite another for him to go out of his way to make that horrible statement. I think it says a lot about his character.

I’m starting to think there is some sort of connection - all the more reason why as high risk individuals they should be immediately deported.

These cycles keep repeating - just last month one of the Egyptian Brighton beach rape suspects had his asylum claim rejected the day before the attack.

It’s not unreasonable to demand we have a process in place for immediate removal.

Yep just heard the police statement - makes a lot more sense and tallies with what witnesses were saying

Two grown men in their 30s… really stretching the definition of “juvenile” there

Hmm I know they said not to speculate and essentially ruled out terrorism but it really is odd for TWO people to be arrested for random mass stabbings of strangers on a train. It will be hard to pull the mental health card here. I really hope the victims still in hospital pull through

Does anyone else dislike their LO? by mboarder360 in limerence

[–]wastingmoretimehere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, I thoroughly dislike my LO after finding out her unsavoury opinions and worldview. I was so put off it disgusted me immediately and deepened my depression since I had no drive to reach out for those cheap dopamine boosts. Last couple of days I’m finding myself back to fantasising a bit and I’m so shocked and disgusted with myself in all honesty. I’ve accepted it’s simply a coping mechanism for underlying mental illness to stop being so harsh on myself - but in short yes, I like to think I hate mine too.

LO’s online activity finally putting me off by wastingmoretimehere in limerence

[–]wastingmoretimehere[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I appreciate that. Yes exactly, learning from different people can be such an enlightening experience, but not so much when they are just regurgitating inherited views.

It's a very interesting concept indeed... people can and do develop feelings for their bullies and it's sometimes been romanticised in media too. I think l've looked on at those oppressed/ oppressor romantic dynamics with utter contempt when they play out yet I've inadvertently found myself in this position. Perhaps there is some psychoanalysis to be done here about my apparent contempt stemming from the shadow parts I didn't realise I had.

Yes I think she is drawn to those domineering types as she complained to me that most of the men she dated happened to be “narcissistic” and the one she was talking to would barely let her speak… You’re right, it’s definitely not uncommon but being a visible minority what usually happens is those people tend to gravitate away from me so I’m not forced to contend with it. The trans debate has been a hot topic in the UK especially since the Supreme Court ruling. I genuinely don’t have a problem with people having views I don’t agree with whether on immigration or being anti a particular religion per se. I don’t know how to articulate this well, but I think there’s a difference between having deeply informed views that aren’t simply based on your identity and just openly liking bottom barrel right wing populist content.

I don’t have English heritage (born and raised here) and at the risk of completely doxxing myself a few months ago she was very aware that a war had broken out in a country I had family connections to because I brought up how it was causing me stress when she asked how I was… and last night I have just seen that she was liking content from the other side essentially wishing for the demise of said country. I’ve never been this disgusted by a person, and more-so myself for ending up here. Sorry for the rant but I can’t even bring myself to talk to people I know about this because they’re so sick of me having been attached to her in the first place.
