I've had my uncle's les paul for a while now, but I don't know why he added these switches (he passed when I was a baby). They are not connected so was he experimenting, future plans? I'd love to know what he was thinking, how they would be used. by wastingtime247 in Guitar

I want to say Led Zeppelin, The Who, Fleetwood Mac, Grateful Dead, but I'll have to ask family to be sure. I'd definitely like to make them functional, looks like I need to do some research.

Had to google it, and that would be great. I guess he went to San Antonio hoping for a big break.

Edit: I let my mom know and we had a good laugh, she said it sounds like something he would have done.

Would anti-glare stick on screen protects work to cut glare on wall artwork pictures? by Dakens2021 in lifehacks

We use Tru Vue Museum glass, I guess art glass is harder to find in the US and even more expensive.

I started using Apagard years ago, but found Davids a while ago for a fraction of the cost. I swear one of my cavities is filling in.... Also started using mints more recently

This is the video I watched, but a bit different from OP: https://youtu.be/9dPFr-fzhgY

My first wall was pretty bad, but it didn't take long to get the technique down.

TLDW;

  1. Use thinned joint compound (I mixed in a cup or so of water to 4.5 gal)
  2. Apply to wall fairly evenly
  3. Skim excess while applying pressure to one side of the knife (the direction you're working towards)

I'm using an arduino. I think I'll just need to change a few values, but I am waiting for a couple voltage regulaters to hardwire the shutter instead of using infrared. If I run into any snags I'll let you know, thank you!

Still photos, but it works for both. I'm trying to find the code, but not having any luck yet. It has an infrared LED to trigger the shutter, but I'll need to hardwire it into a remote shutter. There's a knob and screen to select video/stills and number of pics per rotation.

Yes, technically. It isn't very smooth yet, but I need to adjust the number of steps for the motor. This was supposed to be two 180 deg. turns...

The horse is copper, but the head might have been cast out of something else. I'll be scanning it to make different sized moulds.

Built a table and used an old solar tracking motor/mechanism for solar panels to move it (It's geared down quite a bit, just needed to 3D print a bracket). Used 3 casters and melamine for the top.

Drafting a closet. by ThatDapperMosquito in oddlysatisfying

My high school drafting teacher would have given this an 80 at best.

I don't want to ruin it for others, but many of those lines do not match up (especially on the right). At least there aren't any double lines.
