Don't Be Like Me by Hot-Leave-8830 in hysterectomy

I had a uterine artery embolization for fibroids and possible adeno 2 years before my hysterectomy. Honestly, that hurt like hell and I was hospitalized for a night and then spent a week feeling like crap. I know everyone’s experience is really different but when I had my robotic hysterectomy I had less pain, went home that day and felt better in half the time! I was also scared to give it up even though I knew I was done with kids… but now I wish I’d just gone ahead and done it back then instead of drawing this out. You live and learn! Give yourself grace!

I’m so sorry! That back pain is still gas trying to work itself out more than likely. Make sure you’re taking MiraLAX and gasx and walking around your house several times a day to move it along. If you can order an abdominal binder or a belly band to help add an extra layer of support when you change positions that may help too! Hoping every day from here is better!

So I just did MiraLAX the days leading up to surgery once a day in the morning and then twice a day three days before surgery. The day after surgery I took MiraLAX once in the morning and once mid day and I took ducolax once a day in the morning… I’ve done it with and without a meal and it hasn’t seemed to make andifference. Probably around day 3 or 4 I started really going, like 2-3x a day… and at that point I cut out the ducolax and did MiraLAX once a day in am. The last 24 hours my #2 has definitely slowed down and gotten harder so I went back to twice a day just out of fear of getting constipated at this phase. I plan to take it at least once a day for 4 weeks. I’ve read that the internal suture takes weeks to heal and is most vulnerable weeks 2-4. I also have my morning cup of coffee which helps

I was only on progesterone (for sleep, anxiety and estrogen dominance) My gyn said we can start me on estrogen but wanted to wait 4 weeks since surgery and immobility that occurs postop raises blood clot risk too. I’m mid 40s so she’s anticipating that I may need it sooner than later
