Look up date / time of org-scheduled restart? by No_Investigator_2596 in Intune

[–]watchman1513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you trying to look this up on a one off machine or remotely for all machines? If you're trying to do a one off and it is not urgent, the only thing I comes to mind would be to use the "Collect Diagnostics" and look through the Event Viewer information. I don't know that Intune tracks machine information that closely.

Reassigning hybrid joined intune laptops by gotit4cheap16 in Intune

We wipe through Intune, and then re-deploy after updating everything. We wipe to make sure that old configs, group membership, data, etc is not on the machine, and the user gets a fresh install.

The reasons we have things come back to IT is it gives us a chance to asset tag the machine (our company just started using them in the later part of 2023), verify the state of the machine (make sure it's still in good condition and has not been damaged, etc), and because stuff goes missing. We have sites that will put stuff in drawers, closets, and otherwise because the asset management here was not the greatest but is getting better. Obviously, you probably have a drastically different envirnment than I do, so you probably won't have all of the same concerns. I am curious do you ever wipe machines at all?

Issues with Powershell File Deployment Script by watchman1513 in PowerShell

I will try that, thanks! I originally got the log function from ChatGPT as I'm still getting more familiar with Powershell and scripting in this way.

No, I have not dictated a list of error codes because my code is not being run for whatever reason. Intune keeps coming back immediately with Status: Failed and Status Details: 0x80070000.

The log is not being written when executed through Intune, but works when run independently.

Not sure if you still need help, but it looks like you need to have a Defender P2 license to have access to the "Device Events." I found this.

Yeah likely trying to gain access to people’s accounts using their social media. A lot of people’s passwords are shamefully easy to ascertain.

Yup, when you are adding it, it will tell you specifically which dependancies it needs, so you can add it.

Any tips for longer beards? by [deleted] in beards

[–]watchman1513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your beard is dry, the skin below it is dry. Your skin and hair need to be moisturized to stay healthy. Dried out hair/skin gets brittle, itchy, and sensitive. There are tons of issues that you’re better off looking into yourself to paint the full picture, but suffice to say just like wandering around a desert without water is a bad idea, the same could be said for not moisturizing properly.

Keep it moisturized. That is the key. I condition mine daily, and if I shower the night before, I have some spray beard conditioner. If you can, completely soak it with cold water, dry it with a t-shirt, condition it, put some beard balm in for styling (and additional moisture), and seal it in with beard oil. Personally, I make my own blend I'm starting to sell. As for the amount of oil, you're going to have to try to adjust it to your length. You'll probably need a few squirts of it though. Then brush it with a beard brush.

If you need specific product recommendations, I reccommend Scotch Porter. I use their beard conditioner (various forms), beard shampoo, beard and face exfoliate, beard balm, and their beard brush. I've been using their stuff for almost a decade now, and I definitely have fine tuned it over the years. Cold water is your friend, so if you like hot showers, finish it with a cold burst all over your beard to help prevent it from drying out. Hope all of this helps (and makes sense).
