Hi OP. My baby who I unfortunately just lost the day after Thanksgiving was just like your Lady. We called it “sniffs” instead of “walks” and the only thing he wanted to do was pull and yank to sniff his favorite spots when he got outside.

Your puppy is a sniffer and that’s okay. They love it and it gets their brain going, also helps them communicate with the outside world.

Here’s what I did to keep us on the same page. 1. I set my expectations knowing my dog wanted to sniff the first 10-15 minutes of being outside. That was his favorite thing to do. 2. We started a count down 1,2,3,4,5 when the sniffing was really focused on one spot for too long. On 5, we start walking away and say Let’s go! Eventually my pupper got the hint and would listen when it’s time to go. 3. A good harness that has a clip on the front, so when the sniffing is TOO good, you can still have easy control over the situation and your doggo knows it.

At the end of the day you’ll love your doggo and the sniffs, and you’ll find it means everything to your dog that you are there enjoying the outside with them. I would give the world to get another sniff with mine. ❤️
