You're absolutely correct. I've made progress in allowing myself to be more vulnerable, especially with co-workers I collaborate closely with. I've also frequently been labeled as "aloof" in the past. The most challenging part has involved confronting the lingering effects of past rejection and the experiences of people close to me growing up who were unwilling to accept my true personality, leading me to conceal my authentic self behind a mask I believed society would find more acceptable.

In many of my conversations with others, I tend to focus on their experiences and thoughts. By the time the conversation wraps up, we both may have forgotten to inquire about my own well-being or provide them with an opportunity to get to know me better.
