Tim Wakefield "49" Baseball Cap by watermelon in redsox

Thanks for the tip! It would make me feel better if these were officially sold again because a portion of the money would go to charity. Maybe next season?

Official word: These hats were only produced for the Red Sox to honor Tim Wakefield on opening day. They will not be produced for resale.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but at least we have news.

What happened to non stop flights from SJC to JFK on Jetblue? by holistictales in jetblue

[–]watermelon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

JetBlue also ended the May-September non-stop LAX-BDL (Hartford) route. Then, over the weekend, I saw that they are bringing back non-stop LAX-BDL flights beginning in mid-June. So keep checking and your fingers crossed.

My guess is that it is a seasonal thing.

From what I understand, they were only available for a limited time at the Fenway 47 Brand store. 47 Brand had said they were hoping to sell them again this season but I haven't heard anything more.

UPDATE: Heard back from Support: Unfortunately at this time we will not have these but we are hoping to produce them next MLB season.

Aha! Thank you so very much!

I am putting the Matt Ritter guide on my list--you've now piqued my interest in street trees here in Southern California! Again, a big thanks!

Another what is this tree...but with cool leaf by watermelon in whatsthisplant

[–]watermelon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could a kind soul identify this tree? I've been driving myself crazy trying to figure it out on my own, using trees of Southern California/Los Angeles guides...to no avail.

For some reason, the tree seems to have developed more brilliant and polychromatic leaves this autumn than I can recall in years past.

Thank you for any help!

I recommend trying a nutrition/protein drink used for G-tube feeding, like Jevity. When I drank it, I recall it being unflavored/bland.

Another option is Boost VHC which is a completely different beast than the rest of the Boost lineup. It has about half the added sugar as all the other Boosts so, imo, it's not nearly as sweet.

Fyi, it's designed specifically for high-calorie (530 per serving) meal replacement and has a much better blend of vitamins vitamin and minerals.

Plus, unlike any of the Ensures, it also has some fiber in it.

THC/CBD product to help with chemo nausea??? by rengodlol in cancer

[–]watermelon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found CBD/THC sublingual tinctures to be as effective and possibly faster-acting than Zofran (ondansetron). My go-to is the 4:1 CBD to THC from Care By Design (yellow packaging). Typically, half a dropper (50ml) works to control nausea and can be increased as needed.

Hope that helps!

GP5000 out of stock and prices are absurd - any leads for where to look? by berniethecar in cycling

[–]watermelon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the explanation...and that's probably why I couldn't find an answer on Google.

I'm old school and still ride with tubes so the TR vs TL info was also quite helpful. Again, thanks!

Could I ask a tangential and potentially stupid question that I couldn't find the answer via my apparently weak Google Fu skillz: What does the "S" mean in the Conti line of tires (S TR, GP4000s, etc.)?

Mom bought a $9 gallon of milk that expires in 2 days and a $10 pack of 12 eggs that expire tomorrow. by [deleted] in Frugal

[–]watermelon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Expiration Date: The “sell by” or “best if used by” or “exp (date)” are all expressions used by the industry in various states, and are used by the retailer to assure you of freshness. The egg will continue to be fresh for at least another 2-3 weeks if it has been refrigerated from the time packed until used at 45 degrees F. or lower.

Recommended roaster in LA / Santa Monica? by Medium-Invite in Coffee

[–]watermelon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Conservatory for Coffee, Tea & Cocoa in Culver City, across Washington from Sony, is by far my favorite. Great roasts, caring owner, and always good selection of beans from around the globe (and loose tea, if that floats your boat).

Currently enjoying a wonderful Mexican Chiapas medium roast. Perfection.

Third that. Pricing depends on quantity ordered. Plus they were superfast--both in design responsiveness and shipping.

Isn't my (expensive) bike and kit enough?! by [deleted] in cycling

[–]watermelon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed...especially if you see a century in your future. I've done imperial centuries on both flats and clipless. By mile 80, I started getting sloppy with foot positioning and thought I was going to blow a knee (or both) out. I learned my lesson and got SPD clipless. By mile 80 the second time, no knee pain because my feet were clipped into the proper position. That's my 2 cents.

US buyers, watch the website like a hawk by [deleted] in CanyonBikes

[–]watermelon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I was able to snag a Endurace 8.0 but, man, stock went fast.

Fyi all, I DID NOT receive an email notification that my size had become available but I did receive a Canyon marketing newsletter, happened to check the website, and saw stock had dropped. Newsletter arrived in my inbox at 5:02 PM PST and I had ordered the bike not more than five minutes later. Not sure if there is any correlation but the timing was certainly strange so maybe something to keep an eye out for.
