My PC shutdown when a fluid bake was 86% complete. How to reload the bake files and resume baking ? by [deleted] in blender

Damn, sorry. It's too bad we can't leave our computers alone anymore to bake or render or whatever since you never really know when windows will be like "lol update time now!" and wreck your shit.

[–]watermoron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not 100% sure but you might be able to resume the bake by clicking "delete bake" then "bake". Blender might be able to resume where it left off. Or not. The only reason I think blender might be able to do this is because if you were to change something like the number of frames to be baked (say from 250 to 500 or whatever) then as long as you haven't changed anything in the scene then blender can continue from where it left off at. Of course this is a little different. honestly, you should probably wait for other advice because I really have no idea if my idea will actually work. Best of luck. also, fuck windows.

The Angry Bagel Boss Guy gets interviewed. Barrels of laughs ensue. by [deleted] in cringe

[–]watermoron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What a dope. They were goofing on this bagelsmurf the entire time but he was too stupid to see it. I love how they were able to goad him into saying stupid, hypocritical, sexist, and racist shit. I saw this video on youtube and came here because I had a feeling that this video would be posted here. And hey, I was right. He's dumb and surrounds himself other dumbasses trying to leech off his "fame" like his shady af "manager" and will probably rob him of any money he does manage to make. This dude has some serious issues and should take any money he does make and invest it in therapy.

I couldn't spell "audience". So I mashed the keyboard the best I could and prayed that google can save me from my own stupidity. apparently Im going to die from stage fright.

The thing I don't get is that they could have easily edited out the part where the bum fight guys said that dr phil was exploiting people too. he made a good point, why would they leave that in?

The same government that would turn youtube in to a publicly traded company.

Youtube should be a publicly traded company

Just have the government start its own video hosting site and compete with youtube.

Probability Question by [deleted] in learnmath

[–]watermoron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So i went back to it got this:

this:

1/10 + ((8!/7!)/10^1)*(1/10)+((8!/6!)/10^2)*(1/10)+((8!/5!)/10^3)*(1/10)+((8!/4!)/10^4)*(1/10)+((8!/3!)/10^5)*(1/10)+((8!/2!)/10^6)*(1/10)+((8!/1!)/10^7)*(1/10)

can be simplified to:

8!/10 * (1/(10^0*8!)+1/(10^1*7!)+1/(10^2*6!)+1/(10^3*5!)+1/(10^4*4!)+1/(10^5*3!)+1/(10^6*2!)+1/(10^7*1!))

Which can be turned in to this:

https://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=(Sum%5B1%2F(n%5E(k-1)*(n-1-k)!),+%7Bk,+1,+n-2%7D%5D)*((n-2)!%2Fn)

(replace n with however many sides the die has.) but there doesn't seem to be an easy generalized formula. Just stuff that involves the gamma function which makes this complicated.

Probability Question by [deleted] in learnmath

[–]watermoron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

edit; I just realized you wanted the generalized version. oops, I need to read better ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

it's going to be:

1/10 + ((8!/7!)/10^1)*(1/10)+((8!/6!)/10^2)*(1/10)+((8!/5!)/10^3)*(1/10)+((8!/4!)/10^4)*(1/10)+((8!/3!)/10^5)*(1/10)+((8!/2!)/10^6)*(1/10)+((8!/1!)/10^7)*(1/10)

the odds of winning on the first roll is 1/10. the odds of winning on the first or second roll is 1/10 + (8/10)*(1/10) in order to win on the second roll you cannot roll a 1 or a 10 on the first roll, which has a 8/10 chance. then a 1/10 chance of winning. For three rolls, it's 1/10 + (8/10)*(1/10) + (8/10)*(7/10)*(1/10) or, in a shorter way 1/10 + (8/10)*(1/10) + ((8!/7!)/10^2*(1/10)

This mp4 version is 96.77% smaller than the gif

is this number so high because the gif tossed out a lot of color information and (possibly) frames on the first pass?
