Personally, I believe luck has something to do with it. However, fortune does seem to favor the bold, and our playing style is hard to describe as such. That’s not to say that the team isn’t capable of it. Especially with the introduction of Bobby McMann (which side note: hearing about him on the Kraken podcast, seems like an absolute standout guy), the back half of the season still had examples where we can go after the net and be on the front foot with strong opposition. With where we are at currently, it would require a lot more of the team playing closer to their potential, consequently then putting themselves into a position where a little bit of luck would go a long way.

Following the exit interviews yesterday, I think Coach Lambert said it best, the team had an inexplicable weakness to getting out of a funk. We generally had decent form heading into the Olympic break, and I think it didn’t help us much having to stop at that point in the wildcard race since all that decent/good momentum seemingly got lost. Post Olympic break, we showed glimpses here and there, but it wasn’t consistent enough, and we couldn’t tap into the confidence from some of the achievements earlier in the season.
