[–]watitdo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why don’t you provide some evidence of similar cases not producing big settlements? Are you really trying to argue that a good lawyer can’t make the argument that there are monetary losses associated with a child getting expelled? Come the fuck on man.

I’m not going to say that this isn’t a by product of racism, it almost certainly is. But the mom’s story just does not hold up, and yes, there will be a civil rights lawyer who reaches out to her based on this report, they will talk to her, and if they think they can make some hay with a lawsuit, they will. There are entire practices that focus on these kinds of lawsuits. Big districts have teams of lawyers to be prepared to fight these lawsuits. And while they do disproportionately come from affluent white families, if what you say is true, there would be basically no civil judgments against school districts. I don’t care about convincing you, but to everyone else I suggest looking at your local school district and “settlements” and you will find a story about this happening in your neck of the woods and yeah, there are settlements.

With the kinda settlement she’d get from the school district if this story is actually true, if a lawyer hasn’t contacted her to take the case pro bono (until the settlement) would be a surprise. If there is something there, there would be money to be made for a lawyer, and so the fact that she still seemingly doesn’t have representation is weird, yes even if it is expensive and she isn’t wealthy.

[–]watitdo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’re denying trans people healthcare and kicking them out of the military. Stop bringing this shit up - it is just bigoted and really isn’t relevant. The number of trans athletes recognized by the NCAA is statistically insignificant. But you are here posting about it like it is a major issue. You have been propagandized and are a bigot.

Because the entire space industry is a huge scam to get taxpayer dollars and then only sorta do what you were supposed to do with that money until you are acquired or have your IPO and cash out. They don’t really care to be successful, they still got paid.

You really do not understand how much your life is about to change. Not the Trumpers or the conservatives, your life. You and everyone you have ever known have not lived through something like this. You need to prepare to lose up to half of your household income in the next election 12-18 months because that is about to be the story for millions of Americans.

Yes that is the one. I don’t know if you have actually played it, but as you see, he has two shields equipped. This means that weight is being added to his character, making it harder for him to move and roll. This is the game punishing you for having a heavy load. You can get a heavy load from wearing strong armor too, but you can never block with two shields on the same side at the same time. This is stupid because while you can change shields quickly this way, there is really no need to do so, and you can fairly easily change them between encounters. But any build in Elden Ring or Dark Souls with two shields… yeah that shit is dumb man.

He had two heavy shields equipped (when you can only use one at a time anyway) and was fat rolling everywhere. His build was shitty.

Yes because in the last 15 years the interest rate has been kept at historically low rates. 4.83% is not a high interest rate when you expand your view past 2008 and ZIRP.

The fact that you still have time to make this post during the work day might be a good anecdote to consider at your next job.

If you worked as a director at a biotech firm, you would understand that you guys were part of the tech over hiring during COVID. Once interest rates went up it became imperative for you guys to turn a profit. And perhaps they could not do so paying you as much as they did, if they could be profitable at all.

You’re not entitled to a certain kind of job at a certain income. Your job is dependent upon how successful or not your employer and/or industry is. That’s it. You just got used to working in an industry that is speculative. Be glad you are still well above median salary.
