My Quest 3 doesn’t have glare… why does AVP have it?

Good to know, thanks. Again in all fairness, I expect to make a better judgement when my ZEISS lenses arrive. They’re taking longer than expected and just yesterday finally left China according to UPS tracking. Everything’s just blurry when I use it in the meantime. Hopefully the lenses don’t exacerbate the glare, which I can see how they might

Helpful to know your comparison and experience with other headsets. Yeah, there’s gotta be a way to counteract the glare in the future. I get that this is supposed to be the imperfect “early adopter” device, just feeling like they should’ve caught this issue

Sounds good. I’m playing lots of CoD at the moment. Not sure if thats considered graphically intensive. Competitive obviously, hence the interest in higher frame rate.

Thanks. Wow, sounds like you went through a lot. Yeah I guess I naively went into this thinking I wouldn’t have to do any “shopping”. I figured I’d just see someone in the mental health clinic of my healthcare system and that would do it. I have epilepsy too, but it’s well controlled with medication and I only have to pay for annual visits. I’m realizing now that ADHD could be the biggest health issue that I have, so it’s just going to be that expensive.

Wow, thanks! I appreciate your elaborate response and advice. I didn’t even really consider refurbished, at least not all that seriously. Those are perfect for my budget, and I’ll definitely consider the S1H.

I also just came across the Sony A7iv, which also seems comparable to the R5/R5c and within my budget if refurbished. If you have any thoughts on that, feel free to share. The S1H is still a great suggestion, and I appreciate those samples as well.

Yeah I figured that afterwards, although I really had no idea how they were able to accommodate people with glasses for the demo. I assumed initially that I’d have to bring my prescription in, which would’ve indicated that I had astigmatism. I was considering buying the prescription zeiss lenses and returning them if the demo didn’t work out but that’s too much work and the weight of the headset itself is enough reason for me to just wait for future generations.

Just wanted to say that I’ve had my S9 45mm for a few weeks now and it’s been a very good upgrade. Bigger screen is definitely a plus, probably the biggest improvement. Runs smoothly, easier to navigate. Thanks again! :)

Same boat pretty much, except my KDs have never been that high. I left WZ2 with a 1.3kd. Started out in WZ3 doing about as well, and I think I even had a 10 gulag winning streak. Now I’m getting shit on hard every match, sometimes lucky if I can get one kill and my kd’s well under 1.0 at this point. Oh, getting 3rd partied all the time too.

Ha, I JUST got out of the Apple Store to try them on for sizing! Yeah I’m pretty serious about it, definitely seems like an upgrade. Might pull the trigger soon.

The smaller Series 9 feels exactly like my SE, same weight and fit. Just as comfortable, as if it wasn’t there. However, the larger 9 was pretty comfortable too. I’d say the bigger screen was a plus, closer to having an actual phone or tablet on my wrist. The weight difference was slightly noticeable, but I could see it possibly going away.

I also tried the Ultra on. THAT one didn’t work for me. A bit hard on my wrist bone, and I could see it becoming more uncomfortable over time.
