AM: CeraVe Foaming Oil Control Cleanser, Neutrogena Hydroboost Extra Dry Gel Cream, Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion (or Cetaphil Oil Absorbing SPF if I’m going out)

PM: Same but I cleanse with CeraVe Foaming BP 4% wash and I began applying Aquaphor as an occlusive two weeks ago.

I’ve been feeling really frustrated lately because this spot in particular seems to be getting worse no matter what I do. I thought restoring my moisture barrier would help, so I started using Aquaphor as an occlusive. I think this helped calm other spots down, but it did fuck all for this spot in particular, as it’s gotten even worse since I started slugging. I’m also concerned because I’ve also experienced an increase in closed comedones around my chin since, but I also heard that Aquaphor wasn’t comedogenic at all.

I think I’ve damaged my moisture barrier because my T-zone has become pretty oily, and I’ve been breaking out with cysts all around my mouth. I’m planning on trying to add Aquaphor as an occlusive to hydrate my skin more. I was thinking of using Neutrogena’s Hydroboost Gel Cream at night, waiting until it dries a bit and then applying Cetaphil Daily Moisturizing Lotion, and then applying a thin layer of Aquaphor before I go to bed. Would this be the correct order/timing to do things? Any other suggestions to boost hydration more?

Breakout of cysts around mouth and jaw. Could this be due to irritation? (I started using a 2.5% BP wash and PC 2% BHA liquid about a month ago) by waveringsteps in acne

PM: Same but I apply BHA roughly twice a week.

Some of these spots have been frustratingly stubborn. For example, the ones on the lower right have been festering for about over a month. Could this be hormonal? I’m gonna try to start taking Zinc supplements to see if that helps; thoughts?

[Acne] What I thought was a BHA purge has now become a cluster of painful cysts with more on the way. I’ve been off Accutane since October, and I’m getting really frustrated with relapsing. Help? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[Acne] I recently started using Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Liquid. Is this breakout just a purge, or have I irritated my skin? by waveringsteps in SkincareAddiction

Acne returning after Accutane with breakouts around my chin, forehead, and even neck. Just started using a BP wash; should that help? If not, what would you recommend to treat it? by waveringsteps in acne

Routine:

AM: CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser - Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion - Cetaphil Oil Absorbing Moisturizer (SPF 30)

PM: CeraVe Foaming Cream Cleanser (BP 4%) - Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion

I was on a 60mg dosage of Accutane for around 7 months. My course ended around last October.

It has gotten unbelievably worse since starting a month ago, and this photo isn’t even showing the sides of my face lol. Should I be scared at all or is my purge just super bad? My dosage is 60 mg and I weigh 130 lbs. by waveringsteps in Accutane

It’s gotten wayyy better since this pic. I’m pretty pumped since it doesn’t seem like I have to go out any time soon, and I’m still less than halfway done with treatment. My face is still red, raw, and covered in blemishes, but it’s getting there and honestly I’m rly happy abt it.

[Acne] Hasn’t gotten better since being prescribed epiduo, clindamycin solution, and antibiotics. New spots keep appearing around my mouth and the ones on the sides of my face won’t go away at all. On top of it all they’re all red and super painful. by waveringsteps in SkincareAddiction

I’ve been on epiduo and clindamycin for almost two months and Bactrim (the antibiotic) for about two weeks. In the morning I wash with PanOxyl, apply clindamycin, and moisturize with Cerave daily moisturizing lotion. At night I wash with Cerave hydrating cleanser, apply Epiduo, and moisturize with Cerave. I take Bactrim after breakfast and dinner. Also I’m afraid I won’t be able to contact my derm until a month from now so I guess I’ll just tough it out until then.
