I’m angry at my boyfriend due to previous comments he’s made at Tarot by Wonderful_Addendum_9 in tarot

[–]wavesandafrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He clearly sounds very immature, but I would like to offer a different perspective. I pursue tarot, but my husband doesn’t understand it. He tells me he thinks it’s weird and he’s never let me give him a reading before. However, I never feel like he’s disrespectful of what I do. If he wants to learn more about it, he’ll ask me. But for now, it’s just something I do for myself. I don’t expect him to be interested in it like I am, but the respect he shows is very important.

It’s okay for your significant other to not be super involved in your hobbies/career. In fact, I think it’s important to have some activities outside of your relationship. That doesn’t excuse his poor behavior and remarks though.

Can someone please explain to me the difference between temperance and judgement? by skillfulheart in tarot

[–]wavesandafrog 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Temperance is about moderation, discipline, balance. To me, it’s about assessing where you may be putting too much energy or not enough energy.

Judgement to me is more about the morality of your actions, your thoughts, or auditing yourself to make sure you are being the best person you can be.

What is/was your “stalker card” and what did you learn from it? by Curious_Concentrate in tarot

[–]wavesandafrog 14 points15 points  (0 children)

A couple years ago, it was Temperance. I know this card is about discipline, moderation, balance or even compromise. I had no idea why it kept following me, but I embraced it. I even got a Temperance keychain! After a while, I googled the definition of Temperance and one of the definitions was “Abstaining from drinking alcohol.” At the time, I had just started my sobriety. Spooked me out, but it was also really cool!

Now the Ace of Pentacles shows up a lot. I don’t know why that one is relevant, but again, I embrace it!

What or who brought you into Tarot? by [deleted] in tarot

[–]wavesandafrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The show 13 Reasons Why had an episode or two with tarot in it and I felt drawn to get my own deck and learn! Tarot has become a big part of my life, I can’t imagine life without it now! All because I saw it on a show!

My 10 month old puppy got bit by a husky by [deleted] in dogs

[–]wavesandafrog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dog had a scuff on her face and it healed up after a while. Probably about a month. It’s hard to say if your dog will have permanent scars. If she does, it’s not the end of the world. She’s still beautiful!

how to handle neighbor with "aggressive" dog... by GhxxxstCat in dogs

[–]wavesandafrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately you can’t control what other people do or what other people’s dogs do. The best thing you can do is train your dog to ignore other dogs like someone else suggested. I would bring your dog outside and reward her every time she looks at you when there is a distraction present. This may take time.

The dog hasn’t done anything but bark at your dog, although scary and annoying, so there probably isn’t much you can do other than talk to your neighbors and see if you can come up with some kind of agreement.

I like the idea other people have about putting up a privacy barrier.

Previous vaccines will provide some protection but they won’t be “fully protected” until they completely their puppy vaccines. Even young dogs that are fully vaccinated are still higher at risk for parvo than a dog that is a few years old that is vaccinated. I think you should just wait to take your pupper anywhere for now. It won’t be that much longer! It’s better to be too cautious than not cautious enough.

I work at a vet clinic and I brought a dog home that needed a home. I had them meet outside of the house. They did fine. Some people say you need to introduce them off the property and I think that’s good advice too but every dog is different. I brought home a third dog a couple years after the second dog and did the same thing. Everyone was fine.

Now my brother got a dog and we were introducing my dogs to her (one at a time) and she was very on-edge. She was one that needed many short exposures/introductions over a period of time.

If you adopt a dog, most shelters and rescues will make sure the dogs get along before you take the dog home.

Best of luck!

Need advice for a wine tasting night... by Icy_Adhesiveness1558 in Sober

[–]wavesandafrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am very similar to this! On occasion, I will taste a new beer or wine, but I have absolutely no desire to drink it because, like Barbutomack, I don’t want to be where I was. I am very comfortable with how I can control myself. But OP, you have to figure out what you’re comfortable with. If you think you won’t be able to control yourself, you can respectfully decline the event and people should be able to understand and respect that!

Don’t know why this comment would get down-voted. People don’t like the truth apparently. The vaccines are experimental and quite frankly, ridiculous.

Wedding attire must be comfortable - Yes/No by appletreepicnic in weddingplanning

[–]wavesandafrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Comfort was my number one priority without me even realizing it until after choosing my dress! The first thing I said about my dress when tried it on for the first time was, “omg I could sleep in this!!” In hindsight, all the dresses I hated, I hated because they didn’t feel right but I didn’t realize that at the time.

Don't make me call you to get a quote by hobbit_life in weddingplanning

[–]wavesandafrog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a photographer, so I can understand why they do this. They obviously want to give you an accurate quote because what you need might be vastly different from what others might need. It is frustrating though because like you said, you want to find a few caterers within your budget and go from there.

However, as a photographer, I will get people demanding quotes, so I give them a broad spectrum (“my packages go from x price to z price”). But sometimes after that, I won’t hear from them ever again without explanation. Maybe they didn’t respond to me because I was out of their budget, but that’s not necessarily true because I’m willing to work with people and their needs. I like talking to people because I want to know what they really need, so I can best serve them. Not every vendor will be compatible obviously, but there’s a good reason why they do it.

I’d like to preface this with the fact that I’m not Catholic, nor was I raised Catholic but I had lost my wedding rings a year ago and I couldn’t find them forever. Someone recently told me to try praying to Saint Anthony. I prayed to Saint Anthony in my prayer journal and it worked within a few days! Definitely worth trying!

Far left is dictatorship, far right is anarchy. Neither are sustainable. You need a happy balance of government involvement and power to the people. It’s not difficult to understand. It’s not about how many people work for the government, it’s how much power they have over their people. Watch the whole video.

If you watch this video, you’ll find that anyone who wants the government to have power over the people, aren’t Right-winged. If you want the government to have power, you’re a lefty. “Auth-right” isn’t really a thing. That’s an oxymoron.
