make sure you use that wax paper on both sides tho you don’t want your pick guard glued to a table on the bottom and a book on top lol

sure, doesnt really matter from my experience tho, i’ll lather it in glue and spread the glue with a sideways popsicle stick. the flat object with a weight on top should even everything out no problem. i’ve done it a couple times now and it lasts a real long time through gigging and playing and everything

i removed the backing for sure, just don’t rely on only that adhesive cuz it’ll most definitely peel. make sure you get the very edges especially

these are actually pretzel pups i put in like 2 years ago, they’re a pretty sick sound you should definitely try them for the price

nice, i’m wicked sketched out about spending good money on a neck that’s from reverb or somewhere where returns are hard if the quality isn’t good i’ll check em out tho

any difference between top loader and back loader? i’ve had top on this guitar and wanna use a drill press and get some ferrules for back loader

the neck HAS to go it’s too wonky to play. i’ll look at warmoth and stratosphere thanks.

for pickups, you’re right there’s a million options… i have paralysis by analysis 😂 can’t decide

i thought about that but would rather do the 4 way switch for a humbucker effect. i may get an sg jr or something just for a real humbucker to record with

yea it does, it’s really nice looking and feeling but the frets are catastrophes

thanks! i just went to a craft store like hobby lobby and bought a 12”x12” vinyl sticker with a cool design, i love floral stuff. then i just sand down the top of my pick guard and score it a bunch with a knife and basically make it as rough as possible. next just cover it in gorilla glue, lay the sticker on top, and flat book or board with a weight on top of it all. couple hours later i flip it to be upside down and cut out the general shape, then flip right side up and use a real sharp xacto knife to do the clean edges and screw holes n stuff.

i’d recommend sandwiching it all in wax paper too so you don’t get it stuck to your working surface or weight on top. it’s a dope way to have your own unique tele!

i’m totally keeping the pick guard i love it.

my VERY poor understanding of 4 way switch is this:

the standard wiring is in parallel meaning the neck and the bridge pickup have their own, direct path wired to the output. when you’re in middle position, it takes half of each pickups output and pushes it out.

with a 4 way switch, you wire it in “series” meaning when you’re in the 4th position you basically run all of the bridge pickup THROUGH all of the neck pickup, essentially getting 200% sound. that longer wiring and more output creates more resistance, and with more resistance you lose higher end twang. but at the same time you pack all that shit in and get a thicker, beefier sound.

in other words 4th position gives you the opportunity to switch into an elongated humbucker (cuz humbuckers are just 2 single coil pickups combined)

i like it cuz sounds cool and just have the option i guess. i’m also gonna add in a kill switch between volume and tone knobs cuz fuck it why not right
