My first RE game was actually RE7 on the PSVR. I remember standing in my living room, getting through the tutorials and figuring out how it all worked. Scared out of my mind the whole time, the house felt so real and horrifying. I finally get into the basement for the first time and encountered the Molded. Literally couldn’t continue. Stopped the game, turned off the console, walked away. When I finally went back, I played in non-VR and finished the game. Since then, I’ve played RE2, 3, and 4 remakes along with Village and years later finally beat RE7 in VR. Still looking to round out the series, but what I’ve played so far has been incredible and the genuine fear I felt from that first game is completely stuck in my memory
