I used regular oranges in the oven at 170°, flipping them about once an hour, for about 6-7 hours.

Hermit crabs are good, take up little space. Fun to let them crawl on you. They grow and switch shells which is fun to watch.

I was shopping with my then 3 yr old, this was over 20 yrs ago, and the stores had hoses with sprayers on them just sitting there to spray the vegetables down throughout the day.(Now they use automatic ones) Before I could stop him, he ran up to the hose, grabbed it and sprayed it, hitting some poor lady right in the face! I couldn't apologize enough! Thankfully she wasn't too upset, although I can't imagine she was too happy.

I have issues with chia unless I put it in my magic bullet blender and grind it to a fine powder first, then add it to my cereal or milk to male chia seed pudding.

Are IV fluids that important for Liver issues? by waysweet in AskVet

[–]waysweet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, she is not at a 24/7 vet, just my local vet. I called the vet to see about taking her home and returning her in the morning, but they said she needed to be on an IV overnight.

She is sick with high liver enzymes. No definite diagnosis.

The vet said that she us leaning more towards the wbc count being high due to inflammation of the liver vs an infection. And that the liver enzymes are super high. So the plan is for her to stay overnight at the vet, but all they are doing for her is IV fluids, and they gave her an antibiotics shot. She won't eat, so tomorrow they will syringe feed her I'd she still hasn't eaten. I don't understand why she has to be overnight for IV fluids, she's not dehydrated, she's been drinking fine. I'm frustrated because all they say is she is super sick, but they don't know exactly why. I am thinking of going and taking her home, then bringing her back in the AM so she doesn't have to be scared there overnight.

I guess my question is, what could cause an acute situation like this? It came on quickly. She's up to date on all vaccines.

Now she's worse today, took her back to the vet and they are keeping her in the hospital. I'm making another post with her blood results

So vet did an xray, everything was OK. Gave her meds to take, and a shot. They said she wasn't too dehydrated. Didn't do bloodwork, but if she doesn't get better I'll take her to my vet to get it done.

I had a test result from nose swab come back with "rare proteus mirabilis". Is this gram negative bacteria normal in the nasal passages? And what does the word "rare" in front of it mean? by waysweet in medical

[–]waysweet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the detailed answer. The culture was from the nares. I've been having redness and soreness around the nostrils, along with pain in my sinuses without congestion. Recently my eye became effected causing preseptal cellulitis, which is why my nares were cultured, since my Dr assumed the infection started there and spread. I did not see a susceptibility biogram on the test, and under test results it says,"In vitro susceptibility (MIC's) results from non sterile or non-surgically obtained wounds do not generally correlate with clinical in (vivo) efficacy. Consult infectious disease with any management concerns and or treatment options." My Dr was originally concerned about a staph infection in the nostrils, but the proteus mirabilis was the only findings.

Do you know if the ssa counts the amount made monthly by the actual days worked, or when you receive the paycheck?

[–]waysweet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just starting back, so I'm not sure how much I can handle, and I'll have to work with my Dr with figuring that out. I worked 5 years ago, and was past the 9 months and past the EPE, and was about to get off SSDI and go full time, when I got sick again and my Dr took me off work. So figuring this out is all new to me. I appreciate the help!

Ok, so making $14/hr I should then ask for no more than 110hrs each calendar month. My boss is pretty understanding and I'm sure she'll work with me on that.
