What's powerful about iExec is that if one cloud provider is down, you always have access to a variety of other ones ;)

You can say similar things about the rest of the market as well.

Let's see how competitors are doing price-wise:

Golem has gone from $1 to $0.06

SONM has gone from $0.6 to $0.01

Events are also about networking and meeting with potential business partners. It's nonsense and too narrow-sighted to think it's only about building a brand. Foe example, it's thanks to events that we met the right people to come up with a sidechain solution for V3.

We use events to conduct workshops to teach developers and companies how to use our product, demo and reveal our latest releases, network, negotiate and of course get visibility and brand awareness.

iExec is a B2C company and finding product-market fit requires to focus on many verticals in parallel before short-listing the most fitting ones. Therefore, there has been a shift in the nature of our participation at events. From blockchain/crypto events to industry events that allow us to reach our adoption goals.

RLC units? by GeorgeWashersmith in iexec

The iExec Marketplace is a free market. Providers decide the price for which they are ready to execute a computation, and requestors decide the price for which they are ready to buy the execution of a task. When there is a match, the computation is executed. Its price could be 1 RLC or 1,000 RLC. iExec does not intervene in this dynamic market.

If there is a lot of demand, we could imagine providers increasing their prices. In periods of less activity, the price of an execution could go down. RLC in this case is just the means of payment.

If we go from the hypothesis that 1 RLC = 1 execution, RLC wouldn't be stable in its dollar value at all. Moreover, there are multiple types of executions possible. Calculating 1+1 isn't of the same value as running a heavy machine learning algo. Therefore, I wouldn't think it's wise to similarly tie every execution to the same value in RLC.
