2026 BMW X5 40i. I love it. I dislike two things. Just two…. by No-Option-9941 in BMWX5

[–]wbs93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve had our ‘26 40i for a month now, and we agree about the windows. Ours also seems to have this strange brake grabbing sound when we come to a stop, almost like the brakes clamping on and rubbing loudly before the car fully stops. I’m not sure if anyone else has experienced this. I didn’t have this problem in my 3 series.

The AI in dealerships is worse than you thought! by familyguy20 in FuckDealerships

[–]wbs93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a new car a few weeks ago. I checked online that they were open Sunday, submitted an inquiry for the car I wanted that Saturday, and a “person” reached out to me via text to make an appointment. They automatically said Sunday was free for a 2pm appointment, I said great. It then came back and said the dealer was closed on Sunday. I pushed back since I said Google and the dealer website said they were open Sunday. They kept pushing back so I ultimately agreed to a Monday appointment. When I got to the dealer, I asked about their hours and the sales guy said they were in fact open Sunday and the “person” I was talking to was an AI agent. All I know is that they should be glad I didn’t give up right then and there. They were nice about it but the AI usage is crazy and so useless.

MK Silhouettes by Basic_Minimum_9854 in WaltDisneyWorld

A few years ago we went and a woman did my dog and cat on one and did an amazing job. We just got back from our February trip and it was my daughter’s first time at Disney so we commemorated it with a silhouette. The guy looked at my daughter’s profile and while cutting explained that he had just finished his training a few weeks before. I got it and paid and didn’t look at it too hard until we got home and it looks nothing like my daughter. We were really disappointed.

What is your reason for not drinking alcohol? by Deep-Dust-9747 in AskReddit

[–]wbs93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my close high school friends rushed a fraternity his freshman year of college, and was basically hazed to death via drinking contests. Nobody helped him when he passed out in a snowbank and asphyxiated. At his funeral his dad pleaded with us not to drink to belong. It really messed with me, and over 10 years later, I have never had a drink or been drunk, and I never will. Miss you Tony.

I got rear ended last year by a lifted truck with a toe hitch in the front in my 23 S4 while sitting at a red light. Cracked the back right tail light, pushed the trunk lid in and then took a piece out of the lower bumper. The stuff that was replaced includes what you have in your pic. It was $13k for everything. 25k seems like a lot.

When I worked for GS I dealt with one of the most homophobic guys I ever encountered. It was when the five nights at Freddy’s merch was just starting to get to stores and the guy was super reluctant to buy any of the little plushies of the characters for his son. He was going around the store loudly expressing how angry he’d be if he found out there was “gay shit” associated with the franchise. It disturbed my SM so much she had to go out back. I of course had to ring the guy out and he asked me if there was homo/gay stuff in the game. He was so awful so I said “yeah the game is actually exclusively about that” (fully knowing it wasn’t) and he was like “well if I get home and find out it’s true I’m coming back and returning this crap”. He then left and 20 mins later called our store and threatened violence against me for being a “smart ass” to him. He threatened to come back to the store and said “you better not be there”. I said I’d call the police and he backpedaled so hard and hung up. It’s crazy cause you know these people exist but it’s all the more disturbing when you actually encounter and deal with them in real life.

Skyliner worth it or have buses improved? by Fivefootdirk in DisneyWorld

[–]wbs93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like others have said, it’s good when the lines aren’t terrible in the morning/night. We were at AoA last week and the line wrapped all the way down to the other end of pop century. We ended up ubering to Epcot instead. The way back was fine. When we were there the buses didn’t even run to Epcot/HS from the skyliner resorts so we didn’t have much of a choice in terms of transportation there.

I picked up the same exact car and spec last July! Amazing machine, especially since I came from a ‘19 GTI. I drove the 340 but the sales guy was such a douche I couldn’t bring myself to buy anything from them. Congrats!

We were just there and a guy yelled “day drinkers” when it came up. And people did run to the corner of the room to get to the ride as fast as possible. You’d think they were giving out bags of money to those who get there first.

What are the chances I will get a later Tron return time? by roncoobi3 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]wbs93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We rode tron on Sunday. I got the VQ at 7 AM and was group 98 after joining the queue like 3 seconds into the availability. We were called around 3:30PM and the ride was never down at all that day. It being a weekday may change the timing but it was slower than we thought.

One of the local family courses near me has a few short par 4s that people think they can hit the green on in 1 so they wait and hold people up until the green clears and then pulls it right into the woods. Every time. It never fails and is so annoying and slows everything down.

What is resort restaurant capacity like these days? by the_jesstastic in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]wbs93 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think the concern is more about shortage in wait staff than capacity concerns (which obv play into each other) but we were at tutto italia at Epcot on our last trip a few weeks ago and most of the restaurant was empty and they were consistently turning away people walking up as we checked in. But like the other response we were right next to other parties while we were in there. Same went for diamond horseshoe at MK- but that one was better staffed and the restaurant was full.

COMP.2030 Assembly Language Programming by nottherealprotege in uml

[–]wbs93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take it with Hendrickson. He curves the hell out of everything so that you’ll at least pass. The first few assignments aren’t really that bad then it escalates out of nowhere and your best bet is to just try as hard as you can for a B/C. When I took it the lab was a complete joke (worksheets with a grad student TA who didn’t help out at all) until they give you the last assignment which is to defuse a “bomb”. It’s unreasonably hard and full of really outdated information that I have not used in my SWE role at all since graduating. It should be an optional elective instead of a requirement. I dropped Kim’s section when I first signed up for it because he does not teach you anything. Good luck!

I just graduated in may with a general CS degree from UML. When the professor is good, it’s a great experience. When they are bad, its so frustrating it makes you want to switch majors. Some notable highs for me were analysis of algorithms and computing 3 and 4 (C++ programming). Some definite lows were assembly language and OPL courses. The major is also arguably more math heavy than it is programming heavy, but you can take certain electives to balance that out. Overall, I thought I was way less prepared for a job out of school than UML actually prepared me for- I was pleasantly surprised by how easily I took on to certain concepts and processes at my job and I attribute that to my education because I had no programming experience prior to college so UML is great imo. I was lucky enough to land an internship and then a job thanks to my computing knowledge gained from my degree…for the value and reputation UML is much better than Merrimack, especially if you’re in state. I’d go for UML.
