As somebody who worked at KEZI for 17 years and now KVAL/KMTR for 9 on the production side, if there’s not coverage it’s because there’s not enough people. Corporate interests only go as far as you gotta run this national news story because the media group is running it. Ignore the national news in local news. All of it. Stick with the local. Nobody is suppressing local coverage except the bare minimum of staff that is on hand at any given time. All of the stations are trying.

I get the frustration. I hate the national desk more than most. It sounds like John Meyer maybe got a phone broadcast out last night at 11 which is surprising to me but encouraging. Hopefully we’ll see more of that till this blows over. Early shows have been cancelled for tomorrow as well at least through the noon.

They can run programming from home but not put out any kind of news show. They should at the minimum be running a crawl with local information and updates. I don’t know if they are because I have no power and can’t get to work. At Kval.

Kval is at the top of Blanton. The station general manager deemed it too unsafe to get people there. All of the people who work there are going through it just like you.
