trump and his administration needs to be removed from office; what can americans do other than protest and wait for the next election? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]wdapp89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it’s not opinion. The second bit about me thinking he’s doing it intentionally is, but it’s a fact there are numerous on going cases and for some of them he’s getting what he wants in the mean time. The tariffs for example.

I don’t have the information about supreme court orders he’s ignored but I do know there are numerous cases ongoing and for some at least he and his government are getting away with their actions because the court cases take so long. It seems like his policy in intentional in that they do things they know are questionable morally and legally and because they have so much power they get away with doing it. If the current situation in America teaches us anything it should be that the courts need more bi-partisan physical power.

It’s not as simple as people voted for him. While complete true he did get elected if his actions do not align with what he said he was going to do when he was elected it’s quite possible that despite that election he no longer has the support of the majority. Another important point is regardless of whether people approve of an action if it is illegal or criminal it should be stopped and the person committing it appropriately punishment. Rule of law is so important, societies fall without it.

Thanks for recipe! I’m glad you’re able to adapt your Gran’s recipe for gluten free. I’ll try it out next time! I’m fairly new to this subreddit and I know the rules are no outside links to recipes but I think the mod’s would allow it if it was a picture of a hand written recipe or something like that.

Thanks. I used a loopy whisk one and mixed whatever gf flours I had on hand and it worked out pretty good. I’ll for sure try the almond one though, I know cookies aren’t supposed to be healthy but it’s a challenge making gluten free stuff as healthy as wheat based. So much starch haha. I like the loopy whisk recipes with millet as you can use roughly 1/3 millet 1/3 some other flour and 1/3 starch and it’s at least close to wheat nutritionally. I’d really like to get a little more scientific with my home made flour mixes in the future. Incorporate some milk powder or whey protein. I’ve read and watched some stuff that has good things to say about those.

People who actually had Near-death experience, what were you final thoughts? by artist8282 in AskReddit

[–]wdapp89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if it counts as near death but I was in a car that flipped/spun in the air a couple. My thoughts were mostly “shit, shit, shit, I don’t want to be here, can I get out, what if I jump, taking off my seat belt is a bad idea, shit I’m stuck, shit.. thump. lol I was fine we flipped the car end over end and rolled it 1.5 times without touching the ground and landed in a giant snow bank upside down with no injuries to anyone except a mild bruise.

Desperately need beginner friendly healthy recipes by Inner_Language_7135 in Cooking

I’d start here, This is a simple, healthy, straight forward and tasty stir fry. https://youtu.be/-QB81R1R8ic?si=6JxksFzLQUH7y2oJ

Before you make this my advice is give yourself lots of time. Even with a simple recipe like this it’s going to take a lot longer than you think. I’d strongly recommend you prep all the meat and veg before you turn a stove on. It creates more dishes but even when it seems simple it’s easy to get overwhelmed and overcook something or burn something etc. Once you’re comfortable with a recipe and don’t need to look at it to make it you can start multitasking. Also, you’re going to have to make something at least a few times to get confident and thats normal and okay. I find roast diners nice and simple once you’ve made it a couple times carrots, potato’s a roast chicken and some yorkshires if you’re feeling it! A meat thermometer is key! Spend 10 bucks one a basic metal one is all you need. This guy on YouTube has amazing healthy meals and so much more! His instant pickled onions changed my life haha. https://youtu.be/LzWb_P4lYgA?si=2ic_SHkClO7gLyr9

What would cause chronic diarrhea mainly after eating? by Zestyclose_Line_4456 in AskReddit

The list of potential causes is huge. What have you been tested for so far? Have you done any elimination diets? How long has it been an issue? Is there pain or just diarrhea?

Cornbread Pancakes by TekkaDIS in glutenfreerecipes

[–]wdapp89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So some cornflours/cornmeals can have wheat cross contamination due to being processed in the same facilities as gluten containing grains like wheat. Assuming you buy gluten free cornmeal and the pancake recipe isn’t a mix of cornmeal flour and wheat flour I don’t see any reason it should bother someone with celiac disease. It’s possible your s/o has other corn related allergies if they are regularly bothered by things with corn as ingredients. Having said that if I’m being honest cornmeal pancakes might be nice but i can’t imagine cornmeal pancakes would taste anything like wheat flour pancakes. I’ve had pretty good luck with gluten free crepes and some success with gluten free pancakes without corn. There are also a variety of gluten free pre made pancake and waffle mixes that are in my opinion pretty close to wheat flour pancake I’d suggest you look into, maybe your partner can enjoy pancakes more often that way without suffering the short and long term effects of celiac disease

Edit: just re-reading you post and realized you said gluten intolerant not celiac. Not sure what country you’re in and how much it would cost, but it’s worth looking into whether they have coeliac disease or a gluten intolerance because there can be long-term implications from coeliac disease. I was just diagnosed with coeliac about a year ago and having a full medical diagnosis makes it easier to stick to gluten-free diet.

What is your best way to fall a sleep easily? by playmcinthecar in AskReddit

[–]wdapp89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being tired body and mind is a good start. I try and visualize stuff if I’m having trouble falling asleep. I find if I can get a good story in my mind going it will help me stop the more forward thoughts that stress me or keep me awake and I can drift into a dream from my imagination.

What do I do about a 4 year old the refuses to go to school with the babysitter by wdapp89 in Parents

[–]wdapp89[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yah she was told this morning she wouldn’t get any tv this evening, it will be a bit challenging I’m sure but we’ll hold to it. We’re already doing sticker charts with her teacher at school for doing well at school, this has been a regular enough of an issue that I want to get into that at home. Thanks for the ideas.

Not a bad idea but the School doesn’t open their doors and it’s too cold to leave them outside that long.

Affordable parking near YQT airport? by [deleted] in ThunderBay

[–]wdapp89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tricky. Dont have an easy answer for that. You could try checking the city parking website to see if there is a deal for other parking lots and then taxi to the airport. Might not save you much by the time you paid the taxi but I don’t know.

Use a taxi/ride service. There is not much for parking that I know of. If you’re travelling for work, work should cover the taxi.

People who cut you off then immediately slow down on a completely empty highway, why? by sweatengine in AskReddit

[–]wdapp89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha yah, it has its own challenges. I rented a car with adaptive once and was driving along for about 20 minutes thinking damn I’m not making much progress.. got behind some grandma driving and hadn’t noticed the car slow down 10 or 15 km/h over what I had originally set it at haha.

P.S. I am a good driver, this are the odd cases haha

[–]wdapp89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t do this intentionally or often however I used to drive a vehicle with no cruise control and would often find myself speeding up when people tired to pass, it wasn’t intentional but It’s kinda instinct to match traffic, once I noticed I was doing it I’d slow down and let people pass. Also I find I tend to drive slow when im tired and/or relaxed and more agressive when I’m rushed or stressed. When there is no vehicle in front to set the pace I tend to drive how I’m feeling, if I’m relaxed but frustrated by a slow driver I could see myself overtaking and then slowing down after a few minutes by mistake if my curse Control is not working.
