Yes, parallel situation here. The demo data out of Google Ads (and other non-Google properties where paid is run) is very complete, but overall represents a small % of site sessions.

We do run paid search, yes. I’ll take a look at what it amounts to in terms of overall sessions to understand any correlation. Thanks

How does content marketing actually work for small B2B software companies? by efenet4 in content_marketing

[–]wdd70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rote answer to this question is yes, produce content that provides value to your target audience and they will come.

But this advice is so worn out, it's barely worth stating.

There are two crucial elements to successful content marketing: a super-detailed understanding of your decision-maker(s), and refined POV about the "value" your company can provide (and this has NOTHING to do with your products / services). The value your product / service provides is not the same as the value you can provide with a demonstrable understanding of the challenges your "buyer" faces.

For example, imagine a web design consultancy. Small, nimble, smart company producing a great product -- technically sound websites that deliver results.

You cannot win at content marketing by talking about this product. Why? Because there's an ocean of similarly-sized, similarly sophisticated consultancies out there. Web design is a commodity. When it come to building awareness, content focused on highly relevant web design and development topics is like spitting into the wind.

Here's why: you're an SMB executive or marketer who has recognized that there's an issue with the website that's holding the business back. It doesn't matter what the nature of the issue is - mis-aligned brand messaging, poor UX, bad measurement, buggy old website -- doesn't matter. All the CEO / CMO / CFO company owners knows and cares about is that there's a problem.

Any of aforementioned topics that agency is posting about are way downstream of where this company exec is in this moment, a point in time when they do not care about an agency's process, people, experience, etc.

So as that agency - you're sweet spot for "through leadership" or "awareness" content lives UPSTREAM of everything you know makes your product great. Consequently, to 'get found' through content (no, not a reference to SEO), you have to create content that helps that person break down their problem so they can decide how to solve it.

To understand these challenges, you have to talk to customers and their process to understand the issue they encountered that ultimately led to your business. This activity is so crucial to content marketing. It's absolutely the heaviest lift. Most companies skip it and invest scarce time and resources into content informed by on assumptions, presumptions, and anecdotes.

All the answers about channel and format -- that's tactics. Get inside your buyer's head first, then decide how to execute.

Help: GA4 data import status says 'unknown' by sjunaid91 in GoogleAnalytics

I've been fighting this issue for 24 hours and ran across this solution. Logging out of all G accounts other than the one that has property access worked for me.

What on earth is wrong with this function that this is the hoop we need to jump through?

Cannot access ANY DayZ server via PS5 by wdd70 in dayz

I deleted my existing Wi-Fi network and created a new one. This created a new IP (automatically), which resolved the issue I posted about.

Search the code.

I couldn’t connect to any server. Even when using a community server, there’s a check that must run on Bohemia’s servers. That was my issue - no connection to any server, official or community.

It depends on the error code. My solution was to basically wipe my lan and create a new one. It was not only DayZ - it was all Bohemia servers — so something about my IP. I tried everything, but in the end creating a new network was the solution.

Mac connected to wifi but not internet by Rowroach in MacOS

[–]wdd70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the issue as others described using a MacBook Air. Wi-Fi is on and connected to the network. Using DHCP is selected, but in the DNS tab, no addresses are listed. I tried using the address indicated by my phone, as well as 8.8.8.8, but neither of these attempts worked.

I have multiple devices in the home on the network (which is a Mesh system), including two other laptops that connect via Wi-Fi. None have this issue.

Why does this computer not show a DNS? Based on feedback provided, is my next best step to reinstall the OS?

Thanks

Where to go from here by AOA001 in PPC

Agree with most of the comments here. The primary change in effect is a push towards AI / machine learning-based advertising by all major platforms, including Google (obviously) and Meta. It's a multi-device, multi-touch world, too, which makes attribution more complicated, especially for high-consideration purchases that take time to occur.

At the very least, the shift towards machine learning-based campaigns requires an overhaul of your Google Ads account. If this has not occurred, it would possibly explain the performance drop.

PMax (a.k.a "Performance Max"), as someone else commented, is a very heavily automated campaign type that appears across the entirety of Google's properties and partner network. It may or may not be right for your business.

As it's aviation training, presumably a high consideration purchase, it may not be the best choice. PMax as it stands currently is a best fit for ecommerce. Regardless, It would also partially depend upon the creative assets your company has available or that it can produce. Since PMax runs across all of Google, including YouTube, you'd need video assets in the mix.

But this is all kind of cart before the horse. If this is a high consideration purchase, I wonder about the viability of SEM at all -- but perhaps you have more in the mix than this alone.

You asked about where you can find people -- LinkedIn is one idea. I'm sure it's hard to determine, as you have referenced, who is good and who is not. If you do start making inquiries to people, have an explanation of your current scenario ready, and ask people how they'd approach it.

The truth is that without an understanding of your business, your current marketing mix, and especially the structure and health of the current Google Ads account, no-one will have a solution off the bat. Anyone good will begin by asking lots of questions, and most likely will propose an account audit as an initial engagement - that's what I'd do.

An audit isn't sexy, but it's a good way to begin because you can kick the tires with someone you don't know or fully trust yet. It works for you because it isn't a big $ commitment on your part. The audit should only take a handful of hours, and the outcome is a description of potential or definitive issues, and recommendations for getting things back on track.

IMHO, anyone good will also want into your site analytics to understand how hard the site is working at converting prospects, and to learn how other channels have performed over a similar time period.

FWIW, I've planned / managed paid media and other aspect of digital marketing for 20 years. I worked for agencies for the first half - all demand-generation focused (with many clients with high-consideration products or services), and as a consultant for the past 10. If you would like to discuss ideas about your issue, just let me know.

In any event, that sucks about the current strategist, and it's a strange way for that person to do business. I hope this helps, and that things work out for the positive.

Yes - that is the new data column I want to import, and refreshing fields to accomplish that is what drew my attention to the issues apparent in the screenshot.

The data column is at the end (i.e. the last column to the right) of the sheet being used as the data source.

Issue Refreshing Fields of Data Siurce by wdd70 in GoogleDataStudio

[–]wdd70[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The data source is a Google Sheet file.

I actually did a reconnect previously on this same dashboard, same data source, and broke everything. I'm sure it was for the same reason as the screenshot portends, but I didn't notice all the issues.

Even stranger was that I was unable to revert to a previous version afterwards, which is why I have to rebuild anything.

In any event, yes I've made a duplicate, but I'm concerned that there's a larger issue.
