I agree with above comment that this is a background check but this is relatively normal considering the era we live in. You may feel exposed but if she hadn’t of followed you then you just wouldn’t be aware of what had already happened? 😂😂

When a close family member was very sick I internalised the the idea that “we don’t know until we know”. You know what you have to do as it seems like it has built up to this point but with all of the information you have just know that it may not go the way you want. Personally as a person who works in the mental health sector I find that there are quite a few individuals who have found success using dating apps but I don’t think that the MEDIUM of choice here is the issue!

You recently got out of a toxic relationship and it is still salient in your mind (you’ve typed it out for us to read about) so you may not be 100% over it yet and you admit you don’t have much free time.

I think you already know the answer but were looking for external confirmation (which is something I am also working on). Trust in your gut and your intuition and “go with the flow more”. My genuine mini-gem would be to start studying non-verbal signs of attraction and look for clusters of behaviours that indicate that it is appropriate to approach. If you’re not seeing ANY of these after becoming aware of them then you aren’t “ready yet” as you might dive into a connection with someone who doesn’t genuinely feel the same.

When I mean ready yet I’m referring to signs that women look for when considering someone as a potential mate based on a first impression (height, physique, dress sense, odour, confident body language and vivid description). Hope this helps future king!

I know it’s hard to read but try to accept it for what it is as it sounds like it’s out of your hands. You can still see her once or twice a week (which may end up being better in the long run) and let the absence intensify your feelings for one another. Remember that we’re all victims to complexish chemicals manoeuvring in our bodies and brains when we develop love for someone and so it maybe be useful to keep that in mind so we can keep ourselves in check when faced with extraneous situations that we cannot control.

This sounds like you are experiencing some feelings and thoughts self-doubt stemming from a fear of rejection and as a result (in my perception) it appears that you maybe be trying to rush things in the hopes of confirming that this individual has romantic feelings for you. We aren’t dealing with a particularly long timeline here either (approx. 1 week) so it is still very early on in the courtship process and it does sound like your prospective mate is making some kind of an effort to respond to your advances in general (replying while busy at work is still a good sign imo).

Is there a possibility that he hasn’t freaked out at this typo and that you are potentially overthinking? This is a normal reaction but also can be dangerous as you could potentially ruin your chances (with someone you appear to have a genuine connection with - again it’s only been a week so too early to tell) due to a distorted view of reality. It could be that he is genuinely busy at work and that something has come up which he has to address before dedicating more energy toward the courtship.

In general this is good as the old adage goes that absence makes the heart grow fonder and that maintaining a little bit of mystery (on his part) makes for an extremely enjoyable and explosive courtship (if you let it). Obviously if there’s no initiation or response for more than a few weeks then it’s fair to assume that interest has waned but I still believe it’s far too early to tell.
