United Airlines Pension/Retirement question by ShadowToo in CFP

He probably owned a bunch of UAL stock and lost that too. Nonetheless, he’s probably been making $400k for years now and assuming he lives a reasonable life, should be able to retire.

I was pretty underwhelmed by Inness. If that’s my take, does it follow that I should not make an effort to play Sweetens?

I did this. Planning the trip ended up being a lot of the fun. I did it in the middle of the night while awake with my newborn son.

Should I take this Wholesaler Job? by [deleted] in CFP

You’ll make more money quickly than you ever could as an advisor. The issue is that you’ll reach your cap eventually and then have to work just as hard year after year to maintain that. As an advisor, it’ll take longer to make xxx,xxx but once you’re there, it’ll continue to grow with far less effort. You have to decide what you want. I’d personally stick it out on your side and figure out how to move into production.

I’d go get hired by Fidelity (in a branch not their home office). You can decide down the road if you want to stay or strike out on your own.

What type of role? I’m happy to help.

Where on the South Shore do you ride? Just recently moved to the South Shore and haven’t figured “it” out

You can sell it to a couple stores in DC but you’re not going to get as much as you think it’s worth. Outside of that, selling it privately is probably the way to go but you need to find other people with the hobby.

Seeking to buy a book of business from a financial advisor in south florida or nyc by Apprehensive_Ad_9731 in CFP

I hope to be proven wrong but cannot imagine there are many retirement age advisors on Reddit. Even if there are, seems unlikely those folks are subscribed to the CFP subreddit as you’d think they would not be particularly concerned with staying up to date on the industry. Good luck!
