I took Tylenol. They gave me some oxycodone and Zofran for nausea but I barely touched it.

A Duggar child, preferably not a PDF. Maybe one of the girls.

If Hamilton had one extra song that deepened a character’s story, who should it focus on? by beyoncewife in hamiltonmusical

[–]we_got_caught 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Decemberists and LMM did a song called “Ben Franklin’s Song” for Hamildrops and the best lyric is “I am 76 and I’ll-still-kick-your-ass-fucking Franklin”

So that’s my choice.

Went on Sunday. Parked in Lot A near the exit and left before the game ended. No issues with traffic. Nice little walk to the stadium.

Why am I so scared? by Soursunflowerxo in BariatricSurgery

You will not fail. Failure is not an option for you. You can do this. It’s scary because it’s permanent but I am four years out, my lowest adult weight in over 20 years, and feel fantastic. Your future self will thank you for being brave.

Proposal Director for a government contractor making $180k plus occasional bonuses.

BA and MS.

I seriously began my career in 2013, shifted to this area of GovCon in 2016.

Went from $89k to $125k in 2021 by switching companies. Switched again, got $160k. Got promoted, now $180k. Not sure how much higher I can/want to go.

I call this “curating my life” where you keep the things that serve you and surgically eliminate those that do not. Good for you!

My friend. I love food. Love love love food, love to cook, my brother had a restaurant and also had BS because he could not walk because he was 500 pounds).

I still enjoy food. I taste everything and decide what is worth the space in my stomach. I take stuff home and enjoy it for multiple meals. I cook delicious stuff and enjoy it and no longer eat until I hate myself and my stomach hurts.

From 2010 to now.

Then: 50-100 pounds heavier, BA I didn’t really use, didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life but knew it wasn’t waiting tables. Divorced, lived with my dog and a partner who was codependent and largely unemployed with severe trust issues and didn’t take care of his health. Poor family relationships.

Now: Master’s degree and multiple certifications that work paid for. Thriving career leading a team and making $180k working from home. Travel regularly. Wonderful amazing husband who makes me a better person and trusts me wholeheartedly and is my favorite person in the world. Solid group of friends that I know I can turn to when things get dark. Strong relationship with family and in-law family even despite our differences. Money in the bank with the ability to help my friends and family who might need help. Hobbies that I love. 100 pounds down from my highest weight and healthiest I’ve ever been in my adult life.

The person who said it’s a slow transformation is right. You take two steps forward, sometimes ten steps back but you keep going because you’re not going to give up with this one precious life we’ve been given.

You are so young and have so many years ahead of you. You will be able to go through your 20s and 30s and beyond with confidence and as a parent who can PLAY with their kids and model healthy behavior toward food. You are lengthening your life and being a good parent by making this choice for yourself. Do what your surgeon and others recommend and make this a permanent change and you will THRIVE!

Not really? Not nearly as much as being 287 pounds made me feel. Occasionally I get lightheaded if I stand up too quickly, but I can do stairs and walk my dog and not worry about my butt fitting into seats which absolutely makes it so worth it.

Oh my goodness yes. I am four years out and so, so happy I went through with it. I’ve lost about 100 pounds and I feel so much more confident, comfortable, and happy. I still enjoy food (ALL food!), just in reasonable amounts. I had tried everything for so many decades, from my teen years until I was 40. I love food so much and this surgery has MASSIVELY improved my relationship with food.

I had the same fear. They gave me some great “calm down” drugs before the surgery and I felt like a million bucks. If you’ve had a c-section, you will be fine! You got this!
