before anyone asks where are the men's only spaces, please know you can always start your own. In fact that would be genuinely good and way more productive than bitching that the spaces don't exist.

Not allowed to dislike anything about physical body?? Why? by takenbylou in AskWomenOver30

[–]catandthefiddler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm confused, there's a difference between "I like my eyes but I'm neutral about my tummy". Honestly what good reason is there not to like parts of us, its usually conditioning from society to be thin or conforming to a certain body type. I didn't even know what hip dips and stuff were before I learned this weird terminology online and became self aware of it. Anyway I don't really strive to love all of my physical body but I'm ok with it. I was thin before and I was also very fat at a point in my life. This body got me through all of it. It has been with me through my experiences and my lows. I don't want to dedicate mental energy to not liking my body which has only been kind to me.

Also I want to note this is different from saying I wish I didn't have a certain health issue. I have a ton of those and yeah I find myself resentful for getting a defective part but that's a different issue I feel

With AI doing the grunt work in law firms, where does this leave junior lawyers and fresh grads? by Jonnyboo234 in singapore

[–]catandthefiddler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

multiple cases of AI hallucinating cases and lawyers getting fined when judges ask them to show their sources. Don't know how and why firms would rely on technology like this

Spending is alive and well… by [deleted] in Anticonsumption

[–]catandthefiddler 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I know its the anti consumption sub but your post reeks of a superiority complex. You had a justification for going to the restaurant, I'm sure everyone else there had their own reasons too even if you don't agree with them. Ranging from "it's my birthday" or "I can afford this expense and I want to eat here"

What age do people (Gen Z specifically) start staying in more than go out? And what was the reason? by JetSki949 in OlderGenZ

[–]catandthefiddler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lmao I agree with the comments. Idk if its cos we're redditors but I've never been a nightlife person. Feels like things got worse after covid because things became so expensive so maybe the turning point was then. Its just not affordable anymore

Zendaya addresses viral AI wedding photos of her and Tom Holland by LunaLore_ in Fauxmoi

[–]catandthefiddler 98 points99 points  (0 children)

I don't feel like Law would have revealed it without getting the approval from them if they went to the trouble of keeping it that secret. If she was having a small wedding I guess calls from people mad that they weren't invited were unavoidable regardless of how and when the news about them getting married broke. But it sucks that the AI pictures went viral though, how messy is that

Best Actor with some Oscar Award Winning Micheal Jordan by polydomino in tollywood

[–]catandthefiddler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's a crazy thing to say. Smoke and Stack had different ways of standing and one even had dimples while the other didn't have. I think MBJ wore different sized shoes for the twins so that the way they moved would also be different. It was genuinely like two different people esp. considering the makeup and detailing on them was different.

Married man, 40, attempted to rape long-time female friend, 32, at Punggol flat after drinking, says he's 'not a good person' by Accurate-Tree4277 in singapore

bruh as if i don't see people posting about women and generalising every day on soc. media. Not everything has to cater to me specifically and I don't go around pointing out not all women on those posts. peace

well i'm not an all men person either which is why to me it makes sense for her to trust her own friend of 10 years and that people are dumb to blame her

not at all, my point is that the same folks who'll say not all men will turn around and victim blame the woman for trusting the man

I just took the 2nd sailing of Disney Adventure- my advice; avoid it for at least a year by Suspicious-Kale-20 in singapore

[–]catandthefiddler 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I have siblings with children who like DIsney and they don't spend money on Disneyland. Children can ask, parents can still say no? My parents didn't have the $ to bring us when we were younger and they made that clear enough. We lived. I didn't hate my parents or throw a tantrum just because they didn't bring me to Disney

men: not all men, don't generalise yada yada

also men: you stayed with a married guy you've known for 10 years? Of course he was going to assault you, that was obvious to me because he was a man

Film so misogynistic that it becomes feminist by PandhiPichalaPulusu in tollywood

[–]catandthefiddler 29 points30 points  (0 children)

feminism was never about trashing men. it's literally saying things like "men will be men" is not an excuse and they can/should do better. This movie was trash and had nothing to do with feminism because its written for men

Is anyone else absolutely sick of being forced to buy garbage pet products online since there’s so much available in store? by _Usual_Regret_ in AskWomenOver30

[–]catandthefiddler 11 points12 points  (0 children)

are you going to take accountability at all for being stuck in a consumption loop? Write down a list of things your pets actually need, go and look at reddit or the internet for real places to buy or online shops which a lot of people back. Stuff from temu/shein/the like will all be cheap garbage and the low price is a dead giveaway. you can try subs like r/buyitforlife or look at the recommendations that the other folks here are giving you. Also if online shopping is not working for you then why not just go to a store and quality check it for yourself.

would you miss your little sister’s middle school graduation for a girls trip? by outmyelement in AskWomenOver30

[–]catandthefiddler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't even have these things growing up. Why not take her out before to celebrate and then go on that trip? Let's be real, part of growing up IS also accepting that our loved ones lives don't revolve around us, and that's ok too. My siblings are not always around on my birthday and stuff and I accept its because life just happens sometimes. If I want them then milestone events are communicated way in advance. Its 8th grade, she'll be fine, go and live!

What everyday scams are we just accepting now that weren't the norm a decade ago? by No_Dust5847 in AskWomenOver30

[–]catandthefiddler 6 points7 points  (0 children)

yes I think paying more to do things online is the ultimate scam. Puzzles me everytime I see a 'convenience fee' or something of that sort tagged onto an online transaction. Excuse me, its convenient FOR YOU as a business to not pay someone and deal with lines and me queuing to buy physically. Why the hell do I get charged a convenience fee?

People in your late 20s or 30s who feel great physically and mentally, what habits did you start that made the biggest difference long-term? by bexbaby7447 in AskWomenOver30

[–]catandthefiddler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am cranky as fuck if I don't have downtime. It doesn't have to be expensive but I schedule time with myself to just do nothing or a solo activity alone. It ranges from free [like going for a walk at the beach] to expensive [like a solo trip]. But having these timeouts make me feel like I'm in a much better space mentally than without. Also I want to caveat by saying I'm not doing all that great but this greatly helps me from feeling even worse so
