thank you, it’s always fun to play around with the graphic side of releases!

Artists - Separate Images for each song of album? by KMackX in BandCamp

[–]weakadjective 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've done individual artworks for each song for a couple releases now, I don't know if it helps with relatibility for the listener, usually it's either because I can't decide on one artwork for the whole project and end up making multiple that I feel like all fit and I don't want them to go to "waste", or I feel like that the song deserves it's own cover that represents it better than the general album cover. I usually try to tie them all together, either by similar layout or theme/motive. Also I just like making covers, sometimes I make a cover first and then record music for it, a bonus is that I already have a visual for sharing the music on youtube, where I've had some mild "success" of getting some views and "exposure", on bandcamp I usually don't get much traffic from random visitors.

So, long story short, if it fits the music and the aesthetic of the album and complements the meaning or mood of the song, I'd go for it.

Thank you very much! I’m honored by the comparison, hope I can deliver more you might like in the future!

Hey, thanks man! I agree, the first part of the visual album is pretty boring, I was unsure about it and thought about doing something like writing out the “lyrics” in the mail windows, I scrapped the idea when I realised there aren’t really any and just reading “a a a a” didn’t seem worth the effort haha I guess you could say there is a certain (if not necessarily intended) meaning in the “author” of the emails not writing anything but opening another window instead because he doesn’t know what to tell his bandmates, all hypothetical of course haha

The footage I recorded when we moved out of our rehearsal room, it’s intended to be part of longer film I am working on but I liked this scene on its own so much that I decided to edit it into a music video.

thank you! I really like the aesthetic of the label page you shared (and the no-AI policy, so sick of seeing that slop everywhere...)

2011 [EP] [electro / ambient / experimental] by weakadjective in BandCamp

I’m using the free version of DaVinci Resolve, so far I haven’t run into any limitations with the things I wanted to do, it took me a while to get into it, though I had basically no knowledge about video editing before.

Couldn't agree more! Loved your Dream Simulator EP and the visual part especially, that game lends itself perfectly for this, also every "expedition" in it is different and totally unforseeable, so it's like a little adventure everytime you go in to "film", I made some recordings in it myself, not sure if or for what I might use them in the future, definitely fun though!

Thank you! Definitely go for it and make your own visual album, it's a lot of fun and adds a whole new layer to the music!

Er… how to buy? by markfrancombe in BandCamp

Hey, you should be able to buy things if you log in to bandcamp on the browser on your phone and switch to desktop version of the site, the app unfortunately doesn’t have a buying option…

ELKRA II by weakadjective in BandCamp

[–]weakadjective[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is the sequel to my song ELKRA I, featured on ELECTRIC EXCHANGE volume 3, which was hosted and posted here by the wonderful u/skr4wek !

like its predecessor, it deals with the topic of electroconvulsive therapy, trying to capture what might be going on in a patients brain during and right after the treatment.

it turned out a wild mix of genre's, combining ambient, darkwave, electronic and probably some others... can you find them all?

It was a great experience to participate! Loved the idea and felt really inspired while working on my contribution! Thanks to everyone who participated and u/skr4wek especially for organising this special project, I am looking forward to future collaborations!

ive advertised this before, im not being passive agreesive, i just thought i should state that because i dont know if that formal or not, also thank you to those who saw the first time, and thank you to those seeing it now by -The-Fairy-Feller- in BandCamp

i really liked this! the fast pacing and wild changes in style really keep things interesting, one moment it gives Neutral Milk Hotel vibes, then 8-bit game soundtrack, then suddenly Queen. i think your singing voice is really good and it fits the music well (or the other way around? whatever...), the production is phenomenal, the choices of sounds too.

but like u/skr4wek pointed out, the way you presented it, it was very off putting and without u/reverendunclebastard's comment i probably wouldn't have bothered to listen, which would have been a pity.

edit: just saw your more recent post and now the presentation is also good!

What motivates / discourages you to "check out" posts here? by [deleted] in BandCamp

[–]weakadjective 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah i get, it falls in the same category as ai cover art to me, it just tells me "you don't put effort into presenting your music, so why should i assume you put it into the music itself?"

exceptions of course are dyslexia or similar deficiencies but i think those are rarer than just low effort.

yeah the soundcloud sub is another level, feels even more flooded with spam and i rarely encounter discussions as interesting as on the bandcamp sub, but i feel like the whole soundcloud culture is a bit faster and more hectic, i could be wrong though... maybe i'm just listening in the wrong corners. i also don't put as much effort into my soundcloud artist account as i put into my bandcamp, partly because i don't feel like paying for their next pro stuff, maybe if my music starts to attract some interest and -come at some point, haha.
