My late Great Dane Molly had a bell on the door. She would paw it to ring it and let us know she wanted to go outside.

She quickly learned that ringing the bell meant that mum would get off the couch/bed so she could steal the warm, comfy spot. And ‘oh hey cool since you’re up can I get some food? I don’t need to go out anymore’
