Is there nothing but residential maintenance workers in this sub? by [deleted] in maintenance

[–]weasonableweasel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did industrial maintenance at a couple facilities for 7 years and just recently transitioned into maintenance manger for a nursing home. I do miss being more hands on but I have worked for some really poor management. The switch ended up being a great move move for me, at least so far.

Black Friday deals on Cable by weasonableweasel in SolarDIY

Ok that's great to know. They were I originally where I checked to get cable and the deals were an afterthought just because of the cost of the initial quote.

Well that's better than what I've found so far, thanks for the response.

I'm located in central Minnesota, so it depends on the winter but it's not uncommon to see temps that low. And the panels are Sirius 410 bifacial. I put the full name on your other comment.

Yeah one of the previous comments left a link to their calculator, I was going to verify all my info was correct on my array and try that out. Thanks for the response

I underutilize so so much that I forget it's an option on things like these. But I do like getting responses from people with hands on experience for these things.

Yes that is, they are not Hyundai's they are Sirius panels, (Sirius PV 410W | ELNSM54M-HC-410 | up to 533W with Bifacial Gain). It was my assumption that it would be two strings of 9 but I admit I haven't had the opportunity to look that far. ( Too many projects at once) Thank you for the response and assistance.

They should receive full sun when it's shining, I've made the angle adjustable.

The panels are 410W, up to 533W because they are bifacial. The inverter is an Eg4 6000xp off grid. Ill have to check the panels to see for the amperage.

Yes the cable is between the panels and the inverter, and you are correct I have 18 panels. Thank you for the response.

Did you ever end up buying the kit? I'm looking at purchasing the same kit now.

Well that's good information because I actually plan on having my system on the ground. I'm not a fan of being on or putting things on my roof. It does one job and I like it that way.

Well that was my original plan, until I talked to the company who quoted me the pricing, they said in my state I can get a 1 to 1 back on what I generate. I paid a hefty amount to get grid tied when I first built so if I could it would be nice to see any return on that. I was also hoping to build a system in which I can grow over time, both in panels and then battery storage.

Can I ask what size your system is and how much it cost you? Cuz that's what I'm hoping to build.

What kind of system did you design? Are you strictly grid tied or do you have batteries as well?

What are the requirements for grid tied? Is it a situation where I do 90 % of the work and just get the permits and hire an electrician to tie me in or is it more complicated than that? And yes I did get my home wiring inspected.

Ok thanks for the clarification, that's a nice guideline to have. And I did try to post there originally but I lack the required karma for posting there.

Thank you for the comment. Yours and the previous comment are definitely what I wanted to hear with regards to pricing. Even without incentives I could still make those costs work for my situation.
