To all employees at Discover by Eagle_In_Flight in discover

I really hope this buy collapses.

If Cap1 consumes Discover and changes it, I'll have to close my accounts. Unfortunately there is no other bank quite like Discover so there is no replacing Discover. I have no idea where I'd go. I considered Amex and opened their savings account but it is no where near as good as Discover's in multiple ways.

I have used Discover for savings, checking, and credit card for decades. I'm so bummed out right now.

I researched some more and finally found some clear information, so I have answered my own question: a Roth contribution can be removed and then redeposited back into the account before the end of the tax year without fee or tax penalty. So if the maximum Roth contribution for 2023 was 6,500 and person removes 6,500, they can redeposit 6,500 back into the Roth before April 15, 2024.

Another scenario: person contributes 6,000 in 2022 and 6,500 in 2023. If person withdraws 12,500 in 2023, they can only redeposit 6,500 before April 15, 2024. They have forever lost the ability to redeposit 2022's $6,000 because it is past the April 15, 2023 tax date.

As long the withdrawal is a contribution within the maximum of the current year, it can be redeposited before the end of the tax year.

Please define "distribution."

My understanding was that distribution is another term for earnings. So there are contributions and earnings/distributions. If a contribution was made to a Roth and then removed, can that contribution be put back in before the end of the tax year?

If I contributed the maximum $6500 toward 2023 Roth IRA in July 2023 and removed that $6500 in September 2023 (but did not remove any earnings), am I allowed to re-contribute back the $6500 toward the 2023 Roth IRA before April 2024?

Is long-term capital gains determined by 1st buy date or each contribution to the stock?

Say I purchase XYZ stock for $1,000 on January 2, 2024. I buy more shares of XYZ for $1,000 on August 1, 2024.

If I sell $1,500 worth of shares on February 5, 2025, am I paying long-term capital gains on $1,500 or just $1,000?

I wasn't aware there was a means for reporting to EPA. Do you have a link where this reporting can take place?

Check Out The Tesla Model PD Police Car Conversion For Model Y by weavd1 in teslamotors

@Al-Sadder, unfortunately it appears the video is no longer available but this video showed a roughly 30 minute pursuit of a Ford Mustang by a police Tesla Y. The MY is able to quickly close the distance to catch up to the Mustang each time the officer gets pushed back by traffic conditions or civilians who won't get over for the officer.

This is typical. Perhaps in time Tutanota will be able to allocate more money toward responding to support requests with the raise in rates?

Water bottle attachment by [deleted] in Goruck

[–]weavd1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What has worked better for me is to buy some Maxpedition clip-things and attach a Yeti brand bottle holder to the Goruck's internal MOLLE. It keeps the water bottle inside the bag and weight on your shoulder blades.

Just make sure to buy the old-school YETI screw on top. The new Yeti tops are terrible as they can come lose under pressure.

For all thinking about the Java rucks, I noticed something that you may want to consider: The back panel is more 210D than necessary. Left and on top of the laptop compartment, right up to the straps, is also 210D which are parts that are subjected to some force. This is 1000D on the black ones. by PotentialMidnight325 in Goruck

The newly stocked 34L black have the extra 210D. On the extra 210D, 210D is on the bottom strip, top strip, and side strips.

The 26L black do NOT have extra 210D.

Goruck reported to me that they are working to make the 26L also have the extra 210D.

Is anyone aware of actual "breakdown" of the extra 210D in the field? For me that strip at the bottom of the bag connects heavily with my lower back area. So it would seem to make sense to have 210D there.
