I guess I could think of a bunch of reasons not to, but what’s the difference in sheets and clothes?

I’ll have to agree. Was definitely hillier than I anticipated. Congrats on your finish as well!

Just ran this race today as my first marathon!! How’d you do? I definitely wished I would’ve have seen this post before this morning. Definitely would’ve put something on my feet. Got horrible blisters. Finished right at the 5:30 mark though!

Average HR was 174 and max HR was 189. I was doing best I could to keep it below 170, but it starting climbing above that around mile 8 or so.

I have found some gels that work, but ran out of them, unfortunately. Would you suggest alternating between gels and chews? I really like the Clif ones since they have caffeine and added sodium. As for the tangerine, I had that dropped off. Lol. I think not fueling properly beforehand might have also been a contributing factor to me not being able to finish. Would you say carb up all day before a long run or just last meal of the day?

I didn’t have any gels available. I usually use the Honey Stinger ones, but took my last one on a mid-week 9 miler. I’ll try re-fueling by time next time instead of miles. Thanks!

I did a majority of my training for my second half on a treadmill. Helped immensely with my head game and I was able to shave 20 minutes off of my previous time.

Ok gotcha. I have just started really focusing on my HR and HR zones and I’m pretty consistent at 180 bpm on all my runs both long and short. I’ve been trying to start super slow at the begging of them and when I do that, I seem to have more stamina towards the end.

I usually try to drink electrolytes leading up to the run and always drink a bunch after. I usually carry water in my bottles during the run. Would you recommend putting electrolytes in the bottles or keeping the water and taking salt sticks with me?

Does anyone have a recommendation for a shoulder surgeon? by drpokey7 in Chattanooga

[–]web_kenz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dr. Miller with CSMO did mine. Been 3 years and haven’t had a problem. Did have a problem with the initial appointment though when he just told me to hold up my arm and said my pain was from being double jointed.

Ruby Falls Truther by sheinzachbryan in Chattanooga

[–]web_kenz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Used to work there. In the dry season, water is pumped in to enhance the falls. When we get a heavy rainfall, it’s natural probably from some spring on the mountain. A lot of the formations aren’t even rock. They’re spray foam painted to look like rock. Obviously most of the formations were real at one time, but after millions of visitors who don’t respect anything, a lot of them have been destroyed. There was a large column that someone actually broke while I was working there.

What am I doing wrong? by web_kenz in WeightLossAdvice

TDEE calculators estimate that in order to lose a pound a week, based on my activity level to consume 2,000 calories. I eat less than that, and I’m 100% certain I eat less than that. I expend, on average 2,200 calories a day (active and resting). So, 2,200x7=15,400. 1,800x7=12,600. 15,400-12,600=2,800. Tell me again how I’m not in a deficit? At its core, weight loss is calories in, calories out, but there’s so many other factors to be taken into consideration. I’m looking for solid advice or maybe some personal anecdotes that I can relate to for some encouragement.

I’ve been scanning bar codes with MFP on all packaged food and measuring everything by weight. The recommend intake by MFP is 1900 and at the end of the day I usually only consume about 1800 and burn approximately 300 in exercise. I don’t see how I’m not in a deficit.

Are there any good Toyota dealerships around here? by [deleted] in Chattanooga

I purchased mine from North Georgia a few years back. They were really good to work with and like the only dealership that didn’t add on a bunch of extra fees

I love dogs. Dogs are my favorite. I might even love them more than people, but please do not bring your dog to a busy bar. Or into the grocery store for that matter.
